From Siggraph 2009. Check out the punching bag.

I wonder how many FPS it could get in SL?

/me is always disapointed with these things.

I remember, 15 years ago?, playing Descent on my Pentium 90 with some "Virtual iGlasses." They cost about US$750 retail and had full head tracking and a stereo video driver for whatever card I had back then - some ancient nVidea thing. The head tracking was spot-on and very responsive. The resolution wasn't that great - a little under VGA, IIRC - but it was a Pentium 90.

All these years later, I would have expected much more.

They're getting what, about three there? Watching that made me nauseous.

You need the Silverlight extension for Internet Explorer to view them.

Basically, you feed the photosynth software a big pile of pictures and it looks for unique textures and stitches the photos together. Some of them are really quite nice. The software is a little lame in the 'moving around' area but it's still pretty cool, IMO. There's a vid at http://photosynth.net/howtosynth.aspx/ that explains it a bit better..

Fascinating!

I like the possibility of getting a little exercise in, while doing stuff, more than anything else!

I believe they are already working on that.

And until we get rid of poseballs... I don't wanna think about it!

Didn't LL originally start out as a haptics company?

I heard rumors of Phillip having a kinky chair in LL's basement, something with straps, and sensors. So maybe. either that or... well ;)
