Someone posted earlier about saving pics/textures and I had commented that lately the pics I take in world are not saving to my hard drive with the same nice clear resolution as they used to.

I'm working on more pics that I took today....and same deal...they are just not nearly as crisp and I have NOT changed any of my settings. If there is a 'best quality' box or something of that nature to check, so saved pics are at their optimum clarity...I'm not seeing it. So..... if someone would kindly splane to me what they use when saving pics to hard drive,, to get the best quality....I'd appreciate it....cause something just aint right. LOL I use windlight btw. The calrity on my screen, while taking pics, is as good as ever tho.

thanks *grin*

I had that problem once. It seemed to be due to out-of-date drivers. SL looked fine, but my downloaded images were just blurred enough to be annoying. I installed the new driver version and everything went back to normal.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Hmmm...I wonder.... it seemed to happen out of the blue. I need to also look at the save high resolution to hard drive option.....is that is debugs? My drivers were updated a few months ago...but I'll take a look at that too.....ya never know.

It looks like both ATI and nVidia had some updates in February.

Well.....It isn't my g-card...I updated the drivers....there's something else funky going on and I just have no idea what the hell it is....but all my shots are just slightly fuzzy..... even tho I have the high resolution to hard drive checked.
This is gonna drive me bonkers until I figure it out cause photography is like my 'life' in SL. LOL

Are you using "Current Window" or what for resolution?

Are you using "Keep Specified aspect ratio" ?

What version of Windlight?

Does Windlight have multiple versions that will run or is every Windlight upgrade a mandatory one?

Could you use a screen capture program like Irfanview will waiting for SL to work right?

Were you always using windlight or just recently? Might try getting rid of windlight and see if it clears. Make sure to have latest Quicktime , direct x and such but windlight may be the issue so maybe try without windlight and see if that corrects the problem.

Btw, back when I began you could really see up close on many things like small necklaces and details much closer than now, I miss that :-(.

You might want to just give example shots of before and after. It'll help to clear the issue, most likely.

Hi...ok...to answer the questions you guys have.....

I am using windlight.....and have always used weindlight....the latest release....I always update it since it IS a test viewer. But the problem seems to have happened in the last couple days...without my changing anything. I did update my driver.
I use Windows XP on a Dell XPS410 My g-card is NVIDIA GForce 7600 and I just updated the driver to see if that would help. Nada.
Everything has always run very very smoothly for me.....the pics I take have always looked very sharp. Until a couple days ago.

All my stuff is in flickr.....here's the link....but I will post a side by side example of what is happening lately, compared to what I have been able to capture in the past.

http://flickr.com/photos/rythmnmuse/

Also...I noticed another odd thing (and maybe this will set a lightbulb off for someone) when I changed the size of my snapshot to smaller than than 1280 x 1024 it seemed to screw up the zoom. Meaning....if I zoomed in on an avatar, and got the image I wanted on my screen.....and then took a snapshot to save to hard drive..... the snapshot itself in the little mini screen that pops up when you take the pic......was all wrong. It cropped the image as if I had centered it differently, rather then actually saving the image where I had it centered in my screen. I don't recall that ever happening before, tho I've used the 1280x1024 for a while now.

Are you using the Omega drivers by any chance? I was talking to a friend who had used them forever but developed pretty much all of the same problems a few months ago and had to go back to the standard ones.
