Since the end of last month, I've been having a few issues with people (myself included) purchasing from my vendors and not receiving the items, even though the item is missing from the vendor. Fortunately, this did NOT occur last night during the Cartel shopping trip (thanks again ladies!! Ann, any word yet?), but it did happen to me last night. Of course, LL cannot figure out why this is happening and are trying to turn it back on me ("it must be your vendor" . Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

From: HoneyBear Lilliehook the item is missing from the vendor. I hope you mean isn't missing? What type of vendor is it? Is it a networked vendor? These are performing very poorly and mine is failing or taking a long time to deliver items lately, as XML-RPC seems to be getting worse and worse. If it's a normal vendor, these still occasionally fail if the money() event doesn't trigger (still happens now and then). I'd check also that nobody has accidentally muted the vendor, it's very easy to do since the pie menus aren't that well laid out. If you mute a vendor then you get no feedback or anything when you pay it, it then delivers the item but you automatically refuse as it is muted

From: Haravikk Mistral I hope you mean isn't missing? I mean, buyer pays for Dress#1, I receive the money. Buyer doesn't receive the item, so I check the vendor, and Dress #1 has left the vendor, although Dress#2, 3, 4, etc are there, but Buyer never receives Dress #1. From: someone What type of vendor is it? Is it a networked vendor? These are performing very poorly and mine is failing or taking a long time to deliver items lately, as XML-RPC seems to be getting worse and worse. If it's a normal vendor, these still occasionally fail if the money() event doesn't trigger (still happens now and then). They are Zod vendors, not networked. From: someone I'd check also that nobody has accidentally muted the vendor, it's very easy to do since the pie menus aren't that well laid out. If you mute a vendor then you get no feedback or anything when you pay it, it then delivers the item but you automatically refuse as it is muted I purchased an item from myself last night (easier than opening the vendor and removing the item), and never received it, all according to the above. Purchased it again, and received it. So I don't think it's a muting issue. Can you explain the money() event to me?

OOPs, Honey, what what are your items called so I can look in inv and see if I have them in there. I bought lotsof stuff yesterday and have not looked to see if they were all in there. I think I only bought 3 things at your store.

From: HoneyBear Lilliehook Can you explain the money() event to me? Hmm, if the item is being removed then the money() event shouldn't be the issue. You see when someone pays a scripted vendor, the programming event (just a lump of code) for money() will be triggered, meaning all the actions within it will occur, things like check-price, followed by a call to llGiveInventory() which hands over the item. However, in extreme lag sometimes a user can pay a vendor and the money() event will never take place, meaning the script isn't able to give the inventory as it doesn't know it's been paid. But if the item is being removed from the vendor then it is being lost somewhere between the vendor and you, so it can't be the vendor's fault. I'm not sure where items you automatically refuse go, have you double checked it didn't wind up in your trash folder? Did you include in your correspondence with LL that the items were being removed but not delivered?

Thanks for the explanation - still learning all these scripting things From: someone But if the item is being removed from the vendor then it is being lost somewhere between the vendor and you, so it can't be the vendor's fault. I'm not sure where items you automatically refuse go, have you double checked it didn't wind up in your trash folder? I searched on the name in my inventory and all other instances - the original packing box from UK, the texture from UK, and the second instance of the item I purchased from myself - were all there. Just not the first instance. From: someone Did you include in your correspondence with LL that the items were being removed but not delivered? Oh yeah, and that's where they're shrugging their shoulders and saying "don't get it". I had to refund one customer her money (and in fact, overpaid her...grr), because she said she never got the items. Another customer got two copies of the item he purchased (plus the one I had directly handed to him), and luckily he was honest and returned the other two to me. So, I just keep filing reports with LL, and will continue to do so until they figure it out.

You bought that item.

Just for the record, Your vendor worked fine for me last night. ( Or to be more precise, it worked for my alt ) While on the subject, I often dont buy from vendors that only allow the "pay" option. A normal vendor tells me so much more. Is it a sytem skirt ( shudders) or a prim. Does it offer alternate layers for the same item. ie, Top in Jacket,Shirt or undershirt layers. Does it offer the outfit in 3 different colours. What the permissions are..etc etc. When the only opton is pay.I always feel like I am buying it blind, and I just hope the photo hasnt spent a long time in photoshop getting it to look so good. I must add, that the item I bought at your shop last night, was even better than the photo, and instantly silenced any fears or doubts I may have had. I just thought it be useful for you to get a shoppers perspective on this vending system.

Thanks....I'm glad you're happy with the item - I really do love the products in my store! My heart has started pounding everytime I get a notice that someone has bought...waiting to see if there is going to be an issue. I appreciate you letting me know that it worked ok. I don't want to go to a multi-vendor, nor a networked vendor, but obviously, I'm going to have to start exploring different (better?) options. Although, with two locations, maybe I SHOULD explore a networked vendor. Any suggestions from anyone would be great.

Have to say I've used ZOD vendors for original items for the past 9 months and in all that time I've had very few issues with them. Maybe no more than with the plain prim vendors we use for the copy items we sell. I find waving chicken bones and dancing round a campfire fixes any lag issues we have

Hi Ding, how ya doing? I just remembered that part of the reason why LL is confused on this is that it's happening on two different sims. The store on Itsari was the first to show the problem, but the one that happened to me last night was at my main location. The main location is generally not laggy at all. The mystery continues...

I've got a similar setup to Honey with not only the same vendor but the same product range it seems and this happens to me from time to time. The item isn't in the vendor and the purchaser hasn't received it. I'm not sure where it goes to.

Have you filled out a ticket on it Ciaran? If more than one person does it, maybe they'll actually look for the trend.

This doesn't apply to your vendors, Honey. It's only for one-of-a-kind items, like at a yard sale. Don't feel embarrassed, 3Ring. I did the same thing, even though the merchant had a big sign out, specifically noting that these items had to be Taken once they were paid for. He had to IM me to come back and pick up my stuff.

This happens to me often (maybe I shop too much,) about once a week. Oddly, there usually inexpensive items, so I just buy them a second time. I'm too embarrassed to IM someone to get 250L back... As a shopper, I also like to "see" what I'm buying BEFORE paying. I trust those vendors much more.

Isabeau, do you know what vendors allow you to see what you're buying in advance?

If you wouldn't mind, could you try to nail down a couple of instances and submit them as a support ticket? As I said, if it's more than just one person, maybe they'll look for the trend.

Honeybear, as I IM'd, all is now OK. This, of course, was not the same problem, just one of the expected items missing from the (received) box. (I like going topless, sometimes, but not for lack of the proper garment.) Like the others, I do not normally like to buy from vendors which don't give a list of "contents" before the decision. And NEVER from those which don't have the "pay" box filled out. (I can't imagine the trouble businesses have when customers fill in the amount themselves, and deliberately under pay!) There must be a wide variety of vendors out there, and I can't help identify any except by the above descriptions.
