Can anyone recommend good places to go sailing in sl.

The best places I know about are the "United Sailing Sims of Second Life".
Look for the Yacht Clubs "Nantucket Yacht Club" or the "Starboard Yacht Club" which both have their homes there.
Look for the Sims "Bismarck Sea" or "Hollywood" which are their respective home locations.

Also worth a look is the "Tradewind Yacht Club" which resides in a sim named "Fishers Island".

Shameless plug alert!

Nautilus is great for sailing, and the oceans around Triumphal have a windsetter on them.

Also can I suggest Nantucket Yacht Club as a nice hangout, be careful you don't get mixed in with the races at the sailing sims though!

ACA - America's Cup Anywhere sims are great for sailing as well..

Join a couple of the sailing groups as well, very nice bunch of people.

Our tropical mainland sim of Liome has 7000 meters of protected sailing lanes. I laid out the rental plots with sailing in mind. When I am online tomorrow I will add you as a "Friend of Liome" so you can rez your boat there (this goes for anyone who IMs me and asks to be able to launch ships there). You can also sail into the neighboring sims' waters as well. It's a great area!

I've just created a free boat launch area at Liome for all to rez boats or any vehicle. There is also a free hang glide rezzer for your amusement. Happy touring!
