I wonder if it would be appropriate to call SL as Linden World.
Only the regions that Linden Lab own should be refereed to as 'Linden world'
but not the regions that residents own!!!
For Example: If JOHN buys land from Linden lab and build his own world then that should be called SL JOHN's world.
If JOHN publicly says that SL JOHN's World then would it be a breach of copy right/ trade mark/ ToS?
!!!!!!!!!!!
'Your World, Your imagination' or 'Linden World, Your Imagination' or 'Linden World, Linden Imagination, you just live in it'

Second Life was originally called Linden World before it went fully public (before my time here).

Gora, it's still Linden world because as one very shrewd potential landlord said: "No one owns anything." We all pay rent, whether it is premium membership, premium membership plus tier to LL or tier/rent to an estate manager. If we owned it there would come a time when we could "burn the mortgage."
More interesting, Second Life is not Your world your imagination. It's It's a public place and what you do effects others either:
1) Through how others perceive it (a short avie can be confused with a child) 2) How groups create norms. 3) Lack of zoning and consumer protection. You can block my way on the ground and at low altitudes. You can rip me off and I'm stuck. Knowing I can be blocked or ripped off effects the way I do business and conduct myself. 4) Just the fact that Second Life is full of human beings behind the screens. It's not just your world.
Have a great day. I'll save the communitarian rant for another morning.

I would look at tier not as "rent" or "paying off a mortgage," as I would "property taxes" and /or "utilities." It pays for the governance and other services that make your land inhabitable.
