... is quite symptomatic for the general state of SL.
pretty builds, no people.

even SL6B was seriously empty on those pictures.

Yes you are right SL has become a ghost town.Just got back from a weekend in London with the my wife for her birthday treat. She got her annual "Les Miserables" fix.
Her birthday is 4th July and I find it easy to remember because of the date, what I forgot was that it was Gay Pride Day in London the same day.
I have never seen so many people in years.I thought of SL being quiet at the time.

Sl is a huge playground with nobody playing .Shame

do the math...

30000 sims, 75000 online in peak times...

so for every shop with a 80-bot-trafficfaker-skybox there are ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY ghost sims...

on the other hand, it _is_ true. any number of people on my friendslist havent been online for ages...

I've noticed this too. It seemed to start around the beginning of summer and I just wrote it off as "summer vacations". Perhaps a lot of people go away in July, I really don't know what the statistics on summer vacation times are but I've noticed it much quieter over the past week/week-and-half then I ever remember it being.

You know what it makes me wonder, Lota?

How many quit SL because of the new age verify thingy, and once summer came up and school was out decided to go do outdoor things instead? In other words, how many who were playing were still in school and under 18?

Good question. I would suspect a percentage have quit because of the age verification process, for one reason or another, but I couldn’t hamper a guess on what that number would be. It would be interesting to know however.

I rarely, if not never, have a hard time finding large crowds in SL. In fact, I usually have to make an extreme effort to be left alone. (^_^)

On the other hand... Finding crowds that like me... Well, that's another story. (O.o)

If you were M. Linden would *you* want to go to busy sims, especially after OpenSpace and Adult Content? No wonder he sticks to the quieter places ;)

the interesting point in this is that the "second life 6th birthday" location should not be that quiet...

I very much agree with this. My SL is packed with people. I have to hide for alone time it feels like hehe

Maybe the Lindens just aren't in sync with what the user base wants.

I see plenty of people everyday in SL, but I'm not hanging out in the same kinds of places as some here.

If I didn't read these forums I wouldn't know about SL6B at all. For most of the time I've seen it mentioned, I didn't know what those letters even stood for.

It wasn't, actually. He was right behind me when he was taking some of those pics, and the sim we were in contained quite a few people.

That would be just before he crashed my viewer ;)
