Its been at least a week since I asked a dumb question here.  I used to be able to right click things and see the owner and creator. Now I can't. I just see a blank. I figure I have accidentally turned something off and being the huge sticky beak I am it is driving me nuts. Has anyone any clue as to how I reinstate this? |

Under the tools menu, make sure that "select only my objects" and "select only movable objects" are turned off. This question seems to have appeared a lot lately, maybe some update flipped on those settings?
Things can also appear blank if the asset servers are misbehaving, that would be the thing to suspect if the problem comes and goes without any changes on your side.

i have "select only my objects" enabled, and ive found the workaround is to right-click and select edit TWICE on the object.

and if flipping these setings around annoys you you can always right click, more->more->inspect which will give you a window that tells you creator and owner of all linked prims in an object

This happens to me when SL is particularly laggy or I'm too far away from an object.

So if you see an absolutely fabulous outfit but are too afraid to ask for info, right click a prim part of the outfit > more > more > inspect and VIOLA! A
