Right, I am soooo P$$$ed off now

I cannot TP ANYWHERE

this has been a week now, I have dropped attachments, opened all ports (whatever they are!), got 3mb download (whatever that is!), tried loggin in to other places (mainland included), turned off firewalls, ate extra wholewheat and NOTHIN, I mean freakin NOTHIN has made a difference.

I even tired the client, render volume trick but nope I dont get TP, I just get logged out.

OK I am a free member so Linden wont support me but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE someone help me, I am wearin my boot heels down walkin everywhere an now I cant even TP home.

I tried another viewer, another puter, another avatar, another galaxy (i have a real life space ship) but i cant TP in SL

Look I will sleep with anyone who can fix this, it is sooooooooooooo ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!

theyll support you if you put in a ticket..

did you try reinstalling? Doesnt seem like it would help based on the problem, but no idea... try it.. and put in a support ticket! Might take a while, but better than nothing

Have you tried a different connection? It sounds like your ISP may be holding things up.
What's your connection speed?

(and good to see at least you've kept a sense of humor)

Sometimes when I can't TP its because I'm trying to TP way across the grid. Maybe try opening up the map and making smaller hops instead of one big leap. 9 times out of 10 this works for me. Just a suggestion.

And look at the bright side, at least your getting to see a lot more of SL since you have to hoof it :-)

My machine chokes trying to port or even cross a sim line if I have my firewall on, as it gets confused being handed from server to server. Sometimes when it's on, it'll teleport fine, then I'll find myself unable to interact properly in the new sim and eventually get the "You have been disconnected from the region you are in" message.

I don't get it. I've been TPing all over the place tonight. And I'm using a PC that basically shouldn't even work with SL. Is this just luck, or what?
Oh, and I have days when I can't tp anywhere at all, when SL failes to load properly and I'm Ruth!

I have seen cases where sims get fenced in on 3 directions so you can only TP in one direction and you can't even tp from the sim on one side to the sim on the other side.
Try walking out to the next sim then TP or login at a diferent sim.

This is strange I get around sl i mean i travel much. And i don`t experience any of these issues. moving from one island to another depends onthe amount of lag that is occuring at any occuring moment. If there are a greaters then ave amount of active scripts running you well have problems. I believe everyone runs firewalls, there shouldnt be any issues all of the sudden. Unless your provider is capping your usaeage. Just a few thoughts

Wow sounds bad!

Check this link to a jira issue, could be the same thing:

http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-535

And yes as Okiphia said, submit a support ticket. Non-premium members can also file those. If you need help figuring out how, let us know :)

Good luck!

Got the same problem, my problems started when I upgraded to latest SL software yesterday, and now am a prisoner at my home. Can't tp anywhere with out being logged out.
Was using 18.3 version on a mac and had no problems at all. Yesterday downloaded the superduper upgrade 18.4(3) and now can't go anywhere, how fair is that!
Cannot even revert to the old version, as it replaced it when new one installed....arghhhhhh!!!!!
It is soooo frustrating....can anyone help!

Have tried all things mentioned, but as it changed after upgrade, think it could be software linked?

You probably already did this, but just in case you didn't, you have to open TCP port 12043 on your firewall for optimal SL operation. There's other ports as well, but LL makes a point of specifying that one in particular. Happy to hear of your resolution. :)

on edit:

How do I configure my hardware firewall (such as a router)?

Hardware firewalls need to allow access on certain network ports. Second Life needs to connect to ports 443/TCP, 12035/UDP, 12036/UDP, 12043/TCP, and 13000-13050/UDP. You should configure your firewall to allow outbound traffic on those ports, and related inbound traffic. You'll need to consult your firewall's documentation, or the manufacturer's website, for instructions on how to make these changes to your firewall. As of Version 1.13.2, released Jan. 10th, 2007, you may need to enable UDP/TCP in order to access Second Life.

Teleport Problems a trend or just a coffee break?
11-15-2007 14:39
Hi All

I noticed this week I can TP all day (UK like 9am to 4pm) then in the evening (like after 4/5pm) no tps and no groups displayed.

Its happened everyday this week so far.

Soooooooooo I have a theory

Like 4pm is like 9am in Linden labs right

And what do Lindens do at 9am???

Yes its coffee n donuts time.

See i reckon my avatar's server thingy is running off a Linden coffee machine. They switch it on for Java and Switch off my TP's'

Now i might be wrong on this, so I am asking all lindens to go Starbucks tomorrow to see if that fixes my problem OK?

alternatively any other ideas no matter how wacky?
