I have Mouse click problem

My PCs mouse works fine with all my programmes except SL.
With SL it is very hit and miss on the left click, and driving me mad.
Are there any settings within SL programme I can adjust.
( have tried the Windows XP speed adjustment from ControlPanel/Mouse.)

Hello June, does your mouse pointer move smoothly or does that jitter and freeze in places?
Are you getting a lot of hard drive accessing when your mouse is freezing?

new mouse and checked,, then rechecked, it only occurs in world SL. Yesterday was not to good in world, I teleported to a store for the whole sim to be gone but a few buildings. One Avator teleported in for the same store and we stood looking at much of nothing lol. When I did move about I would sink to my waist into sims as I walked lol. Crashed a few times too, freezing up my system. A few stores which I did manage to get to, I had the left click issues in purchase, so I wasn't able to purchase anything. It seemed to clear a bit later, or maybe it just goes in waves, for when I went into my sl CEO executive assistant position just past midnight I was able to get things done rather quickly in using left click at that point.

When in SL try this;

Edit, View Preferences, click Input & Camera there is an option for mouse sensitivity there, it might help.
