More Group Land Questions

I'm sorry if these questions have been asked before. I have looked over the forums, but I am still confused about group land. Here's the scenario. I own my tier-free 512 lot. If I donate that land to my group, and one of the other group members donates the adjacent 512 lot, does the group as a whole have to pay any tier?

Also, there is a thin strip of land between my property and a protected road. It is much less than 512, but I'm not sure of the exact dimensions at the moment. I am worried that someone will buy this sliver of land and put up a giant ad and block my road access. If I have donated my land to the group, will I still have to pay tier on this strip of land even if I also donate it to the group? It is such a small piece of land I would hate to pay $5 a month for it.

OR

Is the group able to purchase this strip of land on its own without it being donated? Would this cause the group to have to pay tier? Also, I heard about a group land tier bonus, but I'm not sure what this is.

Fletcher, two things have to happen

1. The land has to be "deeded to group". This means that the land is owned by the group. You can also "purchase for group" when you initially buy the land. Then it's automatically deeded to the group.

But a group cannot hold money, only individual accounts can. So how is tier paid for on group-owned land? That brings us to...

2. Tier donations. Enough tier has to be donated to the group, by one or more Premium group members, to cover the monthly tier cost. Groups get a 10% tier bonus, so if you and your friend donated 512m tier each, the group could actually hold (512+512)x1.10 = 1126 square meters.

You deed land in the "About Land" box. You donate tier in the Group Info window for your group.
