A bit of a puzzle

I hope someone can help me figure this out. At this point, I'm a loss to know why this happened (if it's some sl did or I did) & how I can fix it.

I own a small island on a private estate. it's set to group. I'm the owner. the others in the group my alt & my guy. I'm learning to build, so I try to keep 150-200 prims available to play with. all the items on the island are set to group. this shows Object Owners list. so I know there isn't something on the island that belongs to someone else.

last weekend, I bought a weathervane (4 prims) & put it on top of my gazebo. I didn't check the prim count right before I put this up, but earlier & the count was 181. so with the new weathervane, there should be 177. there weren't. there were 160. that isn't the only weird thing. it also there are 19 selected/sat upon. so I'm totally confused. I'm the only one on the island (or the whole sim for that matter), standing on the beach, not sitting on anything or have anything selected.

I've gone around & looked at the things there to see if I can find anything with 19 prims, nothing. I've looked under highlight transparent to see if I dropped something, nothing. it has been a week now & I don't know what to make of this.

Sounds like someone has rezzed and is driving some kind of vehicle.

the extra prims are apparently mine judging from Object Owners list. if it was a flying vehicle up in the sky, I wouldn't necessarily see it. but wouldn't there have be someone actually sitting in the vehicle & wouldn't they show up on the map?

Try restarting your island, ghost prims do sometimes hang around until restart.

have you confirmed the weather vane is indeed 4 prims?
because if it is actually the 19 prims, it would count as the selected if you have it in edit mode

(being it is saying selected sat upon, it either has to be something that is selected or being sat upon, and being you were the only one there at that time, it seems it would leave just the weather vane)

took down the weathervane down. prim count went up by 4 & there are still 19 selected/sat upon.

Try getting the sim reset, that will clear the issue if it's a glitch.

On the about land tab you should be able to "show" objects belonging to group and "show" objects owned by others. It will highlight prims (even invisible prims that in each catagory). If you find the offending prims just return them to the owner.........you might have to highlight transparent to click on them.

thanks everyone! I've IM'd the owner requesting a sim restart/reset. hopeful that will solve the problem with selected/sat upon.

those extra prims are mine, now I just have to figure out what....
