I've been looking about on the mainland mostly in the PG areas and noticed in the title bar "Protected land" what does that mean?
Thanks!

In short it means it belongs to Linden Lab and you can't claim it as your own. Usually set aside for future projects building roads or railways.

It's land owned by the Lindens. In general, these will never get sold to the public. Protected land is used for things like roads and waterways that they want to keep open.

It means the land belongs to Linden Lab (usually the owner is Governor Linden).
Protected land is often a long strip of land that is a highway route - either with a road on or waiting to have a road built one day. Also there are other bits of protected land like stretches of coast. Other land owned by Linden Lab is called 'maintenance' which is either repossessed land from defaulting owners or possibly new land that hasn't been prepared for sale. Other people sometimes describe their land as protected, but such land is only protected until they decide it's not protected any more!!! _____________________

When I moved into my house I was next to protected land on one side and right on protected land, a beach, on the other. After 3 years the beach is still protected but the other large area was recently sold to the general public.

My home, the Egotherapy Centre, is alongside a protected route (click link in my signature to see a pic of it!)
I'd love to log in one day to see that a nice roadway had been built along it - as long as it's not up on concrete stilts or something! So, if any of the LDPW are around the eastern side of Jeogeot with some spare tarmac and concrete - Yosu might be a good place to begin work. ![]() _____________________

Otherwise, you're on an as-yet-unplanned plat. |

be forewarned that use of the term 'protected land' by land brokers is often disingenuous. they will advertise plots as bordering 'protected land' when it is in fact not bordering protected land at all. be very suspicious of any plot using the words 'protected land' in any part of their sales pitch.
