I got my friend to join Second Life but she hasn't received the confirmation email yet and it's been over an hour. When I joined the confirmation email was already there when I went to my yahoo mail. Why is her confirmation email taking so long?

Why is her confirmation email taking so long? The one time a family member had that problem he had made a typo in the email box and it got sent to the wrong address. _____________________

Also, have her be sure to check her spam folder. If she used hotmail, there used to be problems with emails getting through there. Maybe that is still the case?

I would suspect a typo in the email address.
If the name your friend chose is particularly desirable to them, I suggest that they send an email to support. Give t - the avatar name selected - the date and time the account was created - the portal used - the RL detail submitted. Explain that a typo of the email might have lost the confirmation email. Give the email address that was intended to be entered (which perferably would be the address sending the request to support) If the problem was a simple typo, even the most cautious/dull support froid shoulf be able to see that this is the case. _____________________

I have made alts and sometimes it took 2 or 3 times to make them because the conformation email just never came. I also use yahoo.
