group pop ups!!!

me again ok im in 25 groups in sl and when im trying to do something i keep getting group pop ups. like every min or two and never stops. now i like the pop ups when im looking for some live music or something but sometimes i dont wanna see them at all. so is there a way to disable them for a short period of time? or do i just have to deal with them? its so annoying !!!! when u arent able to attend there function at the time anyways. now when i wanna see what is going on i like em so i dont wanna get rid of them permenently . any advice. i guess leaveing the group is the only way so far i see

if you look at the group info for a specific group, under the "general" tab in the bottom right hand corner, you'll notice a tick box that says "receive group notices". It's checked by default, so you can untick and you won't receive notices. At your convenience, you can go back under the notices tab and see what notices were sent in the past 2 weeks.

Thanks for the question and the answer! I've finally gotten rid of those pesky pop ups!

yw! top of your viewer, EDIT > GROUPS, click on the group you want to edit, hit the info button to get its details, then in the general tab of the group you can uncheck the "receive group notices". There is also an option there to hide a group from people looking at your profile in case you have something naughty like unicorn fetishists or something .. just uncheck "list group in my profile". You'll still retain the benefits of being in that group except folks won't see it listed when looking at your profile.

And don't forget you can always look at the last 14 days of notices (up to 200 notices) and click on individual notices to read them and choose "open attachment" if there is something attached to the notice like a group gift or notecard or something. I tend to hate and leave spammy groups with useless notices but there are some that you just need to keep so it's a nice option to be able to look at notices at your convenience.
