New computer coming with Nvidia 9800GT graphics. Need advice on best viewer to install for SL. I will not download the 1.23 verson. And I'm at work so can't give any other stats on the new one other than 8 G ram.
I didn't put this in the Tech section because you guys can answer in plain talk not techie.

If your network is also good, it won't really matter which viewer you use.

Becca Rebecca, I was running all of the latest versions of several viewers (LL and 3rd party) with an Nvidia 9600GT. Some were slower than others but they all ran. I recently upgraded to an Nvidia GTX260 and noticed only a slight difference. Hope that helps.. |

I also have run several third party viewers on my tower: Nicholaz, Kristens, Rainbow, Cool Viewer and downloaded Emerald last night. Of them all I think I will install Nicholaz EC running the 1.19. I also had SL 1.22 viewer for a while, until the mandatory upgrade.
I have checked FPS at different times, areas etc. to get a good feel on all viewers and with Nicholaz I am running 47-64 FPS on cable most of the time. Emerald seemed to run at 37-40.
I am looking for stability, decent FPS and ease of use. The new owner is going from bare minimum requirements to something that will be of use for a few SL upgrades - a couple of years hopefully.
I have read the Alternative Viewers thread but was looking for 9800GT card holder experiences. Thanks for your replies.
