hi....i've been reading this forum for a couple of months, and it's helped me so much.
thankyou all...:)

Is there a way to make your shoes not sink partially into the floor?
Seems like i saw a mention of this on a blog, but i can't remember which one.

thanks again

Sit on something, anything, and then stand up again. Sometimes this will help.

The sitting thing usually helps me...But sometimes its about your AO...
Also the reason the shoes sinking is usually bc someone made it...

Your exact avatar position is the position of the agent - not the avatar. An agent is what actually defines you. The avatar is just a nice shell around the agent (more or less centered around it).

SL uses the height you set for your avatar (in the avatar edit appearance - your length) and from that calculates how high the agent should be above the floor to have your avatar feet on the floor.

Animations may influence that, if they are in something you wear or in something you sit on. If the animation overrides the SL default animation, and is placed a bit lower or higher, then your avatar will be too low or too high.

Or, if your prim shoes add something to your length (the sole and heel are lower than your footsole) then they will be in the floor (SL still keeps your agent where it should be according to your size.

From what you say I guess the latter is the case. Perhaps you can move your shoes a little bit higher up your legs.

Presumably the prim shoes came with non-prim "slider" shoes. (If not, you may need to make them.) When SL figures out where to draw your avatar, it takes into account the "height" sliders for the shoes, too, so if you can stretch the platform height of those non-prim shoes, it will raise the rest of the avatar up from the floor accordingly. You can play with the height of the toes and heels, too.

So that puts the top of the foot some ways off the floor, giving some room to slide the prim shoes up. Doing this to any dramatic extent requires that the shoes have invisiprims to hide the non-prim shoes that get exposed below the bottom of the foot when you make them really thick.

[ETA: It's not worth obsessing over the perfectly shaped invisiprim to hide the exposed part of the foot. Invisiprims are awful things that look absurd on any translucent surface--such as many floors. Fortunately all that will go away soon, and we'll be able to create non-prim shoe textures that actually make parts of our feet invisible.]

What? I'm behind on my reading ... is something being done with meshes? Just a pointer to where to read would help ....

Now... are you speaking from hearsay or have they posted somewhere that it will be available soon? and how soon... is soon?

I know, from talking to some lindens that it is in the works, (and it is due to that that we got the disappearing avatars and sometimes really wonky partially disappearing skins, happens to me a LOT)

But, I have not see anything definite as to when it will be ready and we can do away with the invisi prim script and prims

So if you have seen somewhere where they state it will be soon (with a timeline) please show me, I am anxiously waiting for this to be implemented)

Thanks
