Can anyone advise me of some nice but fairly priced Beach homes please for rental, im looking for a 2 bedroom beach house if possable with rental around 500L per week?
Or would people think its best to buy land to place a house upon?
Thank you for any advice anyone can give.

Our last cabin just went. I do have one room left in a shared mansion house, but that probably isn't what you want.

For L$500 a week, you can probably get close to 100 prims. Which is also about what you can expect to pay for a 512K plot (117 prims) of your own on a private island. The bad thing with rentals is you are actually going to be paying for the prims in the build in which you live (i.e. the premade beach house). The good thing about renting is that a good rental sim will have community areas - beaches, fishing, etc. - that you will have access to, but don't have to pay for. For example, on our sim, we have fishing, golf, arcade, horseback riding (with free single ride horses), a movie theater, a holodeck with over 60 roleplay environments to rez as you want to use them, and a bunch of other fun things to do.

So it really comes down to what you want. For a decent house that you can deck out and get enough stuff around to make it look pretty you would want to purchase a 1024 lot (234 prims). It's a good starter level. The downside to that is that you'll have your little area that is all your own, but you'll be leaving your home sim to go do much else.

For me, it's never really been that important to have a "house" per se. It is definitely nice to have a place to go and change and sort through stuff and to generally call "home" but we've never had anything, even now that we have our own sim, that resembles a proper house. lol

In the end, I think a rental home is a great way to start up. If you have a good sim with lots to do, it's sort of like having a whole huge area but you are paying for just a little slice of it. If you find a way to make a little money in SL by making products or whatever you come up with, then you can start to think about growing into bigger chunks of land. Until you hit that 1024meter (234 prims) mark or higher though, I would just rent.

yeah, you will find a 512 on an island at that price point, although many estates dont have plots that small.
definitely shop for your home as something you will personally own and can modify, move, take with you, etc. your house and your land should ideally be thought of as two distinct things.
you will only have 117 prims available, so think 'low prim'. imo parker and ace have the best lower prim homes, have maybe 50 different models available, and most would look in place on a beachfront.

I know of a really good landlord/landlady - a beautiful beach house I just personally moved out of (for reasons having nothing to do with them or the property). Amazing prim count, and really nice helpful landlord/landlady, great beach sim/view...not a 'canned' or stepford feel to the sim as many rental sims have.

Send me an IM in world and I will send you their way if you wish. You can have a look.

Actually I just thought of 2 other places, too. One is a campground type of community not really a beach but I saw 2 houses fronting the water. The other is a planned rental commnunity but legit landlord and very hands-on. The first is 400/week 150 prims, the second is varying in prices but a bit more than your 500/week budget (very hard to find a beach house for that).

So, if you'd like me to point you toward all three let me know in IM. I don't get a kickback, just trying to help you.
