There used to be an option up where you take a picture, save photo as etc.... recently I went to use this and discovered it is no longer there. Did LL get rid of this feature or just move it to another part of the toolbar? If someone can tell me how to do this or where to find this feature again I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

It's still there. They rearranged the way the snapshot window works. Now when you 'save to disk', you'll be prompted for a filename, and a file format.

Making a sl movie(reply)

I've tried that , my sl semi freezes up like it's doign something, then it continues like it normally will, not giving me the option of saving as.. or a file format. I know it used to as I have used the movie feature in the past, it's just been a long time ago. I see that CTRL +` is supposed to work too, but that doesn't( Not for me at least)

![]() Hmm....it's been working for me. Could it be a driver/memory problem? _____________________

While the snapshot feature is still working, I, too, noticed the lack of a movie making option in the new viewer. I hope it's buried somewhere and can be unearthed.

I think the movie option is now gone in the official viewer but Torley Linden did a good overview of external software that might be useful if you are interested in doing machinima:

Normally, Fraps is the tool I see people using for recording videos in games. It's pretty lightweight and robust compared it other options (there are many other options though).

I've been using Camtasia, but that option made is so much easier to capture vid in world.

I have Fraps and believe it was well worth the money. But before that, I used WeGame, which is free and has a hosting site, too.

Ahh! I'm sorry. I was thinking about the snapshots. I haven't tried to use the viewer to record video. My bad.

From what I've read in previous threads and also somewhere in flickr....the movie feature is gone because it never performed properly (consitantly). I believe now you have to use an external program but there's some free ones' that are supposed to be pretty decent.
