Lost my old avy which had an awsome skin/shape that I know I paid much for. Long story, short...i have a new avy and essentially starting over. In your humble opinion, where are the BEST skins/shapes for male avy's? (no zombies or animals) If i spend anything on SL I think the skin/shape is what I want to spend the most on so I'm looking for quality. I remember a place I loved going to that had the best, but the life of me I can't remember it? It was a high-end place and had real models posing their products and everything..very nice

Can you be more specific? Define *best* in your opinion...some people go for the orangey bay watch...some go for the triangle man....etc etc...then perhaps you'll get some responses to point you in the right direction.

The Abyss

is a personal favourite. Their sim takes a while to load, and is a treat for the eyes itself. Well worth the wait (for all to load in, including the skins).

Good luck.

Skins by Max - I recall they had models standing around so this might be where you found your previous skin.

Naughty has good skins that have been out for a while so maybe it could be them too. No models I think.

ARS NOVA has some really great skins too....

As far as shape.....even tho I make shapes...I can't see spending any great amount of L's on a shape....it just takes some practice with the sliders. You might want to just look for modifiable freebies and just mess around with those. I've got some at my shop....but I'm not here to plug my freebies.....I do it because I enjoy it.

And by 'lost' your AV....what exactly happened? I can't see how that's possible unless you had an account lapse and you'rer totally starting over. But regardless....best bet is to find the skin you really like first.....then set to work tweeking your shape to best enhance the skin. ;)

The Good Life has some I like. They have selections with various types of facial hair as well as a clean shaven look.

Edit - And ARS NOVA too....

While "best" is definitely subjective I would say that you are better off going for something unique. There are certain skins for both genders that I recognize instantly when I'm out and about, and it doesn't matter how cool or sexy they are, if they're commonplace I don't find them very interesting. It's sort of like back in High School when half the student body wore GAP everyday. Don't neglect hair either, that makes a huge difference. Definitely customize your shape though, even if you buy one as a starting point, go crazy with modifying it. Most of the shapes that I've bought I've hated after trying them, so they always get modified. Most male shapes seem to gravitate toward the muscle-bound titan look. I generally prefer a trimmer look. More like a soccer player, less like a weight-lifter. :P

Best male Skins? Signature Skins, no doubt.

Best male shapes? Well I'd answer that, but I'm kind of biased :)

*sigh*

I know I will be talking to myself here. But lately I've been missing more diversity in male human avatars. I see tanned, muscular, tattooed guys with a stubble, black hair and blue eyes /everywhere/.

I wish the OP was asking for help to find a male skin with freckles and lighter eyebrows that he could use with brown hair and grey eyes. And a less hunky, more lean shape. But I know that's just a dream.

... Redgrave has good male skins. Belleza too. That's the kind of goodlooking guys you expext to see in SL. Adam n'Eve has skins that's more "natural". Even freckles, and toned without that superdetailed sixpack.

Amen sistah~!!

When I was making an AV of my fiancee, it was like looking for a needle in a haystack trying to find a skin with blond body/facial hair!! It drove me nuts....I finally had to get
an entire Brad Pitt ensemble just to use the skin~!! And ya know what.....I made a beautiful likeness of my man.....and have YET to see an avatar that looks even remotely
like him. Sadly....it was just a project and now he is stashed away in my inventory.....to be brought to life once again maybe, next time he leaves for another away job LOL :p

I just spent the weekend shopping for a new male skin, after trying a bunch of skins I narrowed my choices down to skins from Redgrave and Belleza, both of which had skins which I liked. In the end I went with Belleza as the Redgrave skins where just a little too muscle toned for my liking. My old skin was from a place called Skins by Max if I remember correctly and I actually liked that skin quite a lot too.

You think overdeveloped sixpacks look silly on a human.

Explain to me how you are supposed to be seeing a ripped sixpack through two inches of fur.

I'm a recent fan of Zanzo. Nice selection of skins there. Think they have shapes too, but i always recommend making ones own.
