Graphics error message when starting up SL

Hello,

I have this problem with the SL client. It started recently. I'm running Win XP SP2. I installed the latest 1.77 Nvidia drivers for my Leadtek 8600GTS Extreme, but I hit a problem as described in another thread, the textures from various layers going all the way down to my avatar's feet etc.

So I rolled back my driver to 1.7519.

Now what happens is this:

I can load up the SL client from a fresh reboot
and it will start normally. Then when I log out and try to start up the client again I get the following msg:


"Second life is unable to run because your video card drivers are out of date or unsupported. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers installed

If you continue to receive this message, contact customer service."


If I reboot windows and then start up the client it runs normally, but I only get one chance to login per reboot

I've reinstalled the 1.75 driver over the top of the existing rolled back 1.75, it doesn't help.

It affects all versions of the client installed, 1.20, Nicholaz edition, Beta client etc.

Before this I could have logged in and out of SL all day without any reboots inbetween. It's such a drag to have to do this.

Found the solution: Use Windows Restore to go back to a point before the drivers were installed instead of just doing a driver rollback. The client is loading normally now.
