I have searched the forums and still have not gotten a clear answer as to the legality of these games. Since this was built, my sim preformance has dropped considerably because it is full of av bots.

I don't see the point to build up traffic, there is not much there to see or buy. 11k traffic hehe!

i'm sure someone will come along with a TOS quote, but i think the general rule is that it's not really considered a problem until it begins to affect others.

if it has drug down the sim performance, i would guess that qualifies as a breach in TOS.

Any game that requires you to pay before you can play the game and you have a chance of receiving money back is illegal.

I think the av bots are for the camping.

I still think its dumb though...

I have only seen one av play Quince, that was the other day. Her profile was normal. Everyone else there are all born on the same day, made up of several different dates.

It seems that filling the sim to 50% capacity with av-bot campers, is pretty self defeating.

Gosh. How daft is that? As if poker and blackjack didn't take any skill. Well, the old SL versions probably were rigged so skill didn't help, but I mean, in theory, even playing the ponies takes skill. And it's pretty hard to argue it's not gambling. If these are really the rules (really??), it's just a matter of time before MasterCard, Visa, PayPal, etc. will be forced to cut off LL. That'll suck.

...!

You will not find a list of legal games since people could just change name of an object to be on the list.
If in doubt file an AR on it and let the Lindens deal with the owner. They will tell him to remove it if its a violation of the TOS.

games that require skill, such as matching up pictures, or creating lines of objects, are considered legal, because the outcome is not a randomly generated number

Zyngo is not legal. The introduction of an element of skill does not grant it an exemption. It is the existence of the element of chance through the random generation of tiles which renders it a violation of SL's wagering policy. If it were otherwise, then poker would also be exempt. And no, just because one Linden representative may be ignorant enough to inform someone that it is ok does not make it so. I have personally seen other Lindens shut down all of the Zyngo machines in a sim. The only Zyngo machines that are exempt are the ones that do not require any pay in. And yes, Linden Lab is arbitrary and random in enforcing the policy against Zyngo machines so invest and operate them at your own peril.

It's a little more complicated than that; Tringo, for example, is legal. Although the tiles are randomly generated, you are not competing against the house; you are competing against other avatars that receive the SAME random tiles. So there is a random element to the game, but no random element to determining the outcome; it is purely a matter of the skill of the players, and therefore it is a legal game.
