ok i'm a bit confused i have all my land in one sim and own 1520 sq. m. now on the object tab of land it says my prim allowance is 347. so that means i can have 347 prims for that land now if i add the last 16 sq.m. do i get 3 more prims or do i get more i ask becouse it occord to me that a 16 sq. m. plot gets 3 prims and there are 32 16 sq m plots in a plot of 512 and at 512 you get 117 prims but 32 times 3 is 96 so you accually get 21 more prims,

i guess my question is what the break down for cumlitive prim counts to plot size

There are 15,000 prims per 65,536 square meter sim. You can do all the math :)

You will get 351.

A sim has 15,000 prims for 65,536m, meaning each square meter gets 0.22888 prims. The system always rounds down, and the difference you are seeing is due to the rounding error. Here are the numbers:

0.22888 * 16 = 3.66 --> 3 prims
0.22888 * 512 = 117.19 --> 117 prims
0.22888 * 1520 = 347.90 --> 347 prims
0.22888 * 1536 = 351.56 --> 351 prims

To be absolutely correct, the number isn't exactly 0.22888, but rather 15,000/65,536, which comes out to 0.2288818359375 (I think exactly).

see thats what i'm asking if perchance 4096 diffent people all bought a 16 sq. m. plot the sim would only have 12,288 prims in it if everbody put the max prims on there land how does the cut off and cumlitive count work does 32 sq gets you 7 ?? is 64 ;15? when i get that last 16 will i get 3 or 4 prims or a diffent number?

If you own multiple parcels within a sim, I am fairly sure you will get the prim count based on the TOTAL area that you hold, rather than a sum of what each parcel supports individually.

So, in a sim of 16m parcels (eek, by the way), if each were held by a different person, then only 12,288 prims could be placed in the sim. But if a single person or group held all of the parcels, they would be able to use the full 15,000 prims.

You are correct. :)

You are correct. :)

I checked the Knowledge Base, and it seemed to contradict us. But then it also said that 117+117=228, so I think we can assume the author of that article doesn't quite get the math. ;)
