"As seen on SL FORUMS" ???

I've taken a perverse interest in the festering of one of Mainland's more gruesome eyesores, the adfarm-fronted Linden road in Sanddalgi, and was surprised to see among the forest of mutually-obscuring ads, one for the Bear Infohub, which cites among its several benefits the fact that it is "As seen on the SL FORUMS."

This brings a couple of questions to mind. First, I'm kind of puzzled by how an Infohub becomes an advertising enterprise. I suppose public areas have been host to all sorts of for-profit endeavors, and there's nothing really precluding selling a trenchcoat full of fake Rolexes on Linden land--but I kinda think something else must be going on here. Anybody know what this is all about?

But more puzzling to me is the Forums "endorsement"--I suppose analogous to "As seen on TV." Should one take this to be tongue-in-cheek?

Wow, that's pretty tasteless. If you search the forums you will find several heated debates surrounding the Bear Info hub in recent weeks, with threads being opened in several forums. There was some conflict or other, which was AFAIK resolved.
IMHO, if this is a reference to those debates, marking the place "As seen on the SL Forums" is a very odd advertisement indeed. Then again ..... all publicity is good publicity apparently
