Why can't I get any responses or answers from the "Trouble Tickets" or the HELP link?

I have been here 10 days and tried to use the "Money Tree" numerous times, but cannot. I have put in several "trouble tickets" and gotten no replies at all.

I submitted the "I Agree" to the "Terms" and still no luck.

Now, I cannot get anything from "Welfare Island" because the surveys "will not accept proxy I.P's" Let me tell you.....every AOL, Yahoo, MSN (to name a few) user has a proxy I.P.

When will someone answer my questions? I paid for a full year of "Premium" right off the bat, and gotten absolutely nothing out of it.

Aren't there ever any Admin or Mods around in SL who can be approached for answers?

This may sound like a stupid question, but are you going to Money Trees that actually have money on them?

Due to the way the viewer handles SSL packets, a simple proxy will not work. You could try to use a port forwarder if you have a NAT server. It is quite a complex configuration and every port forwarder would have entirely different commands to configure it.

You can also try AjaxLife:

Also, some of those surveys may be entirely different websites and completely not connected to SL at all. At that point, SL can not help you. Try to contact someone at the island that is in charge.

Turnaround on support tickets is very slow. I'm a "concierge" member who pays nearly 1K USD a month in land use fees, and I've had a support ticket in the queue for a week and a half.

Oh, but specific to your problem, some Money Trees are set up to only allow 'unverified' people to use them. If you've ever used your credit card to make Linden purchases (or perhaps even provided payment information to LL), some money trees will not allow you to pluck money from them. (This is configurable by the person who owns the tree.)

We should probably also point out that the Money Trees are run by other residents, not by Linden Lab. LL does not normally involve itself in disputes between you and other residents.

I wouldn't be surprised if LL simply ignores this type of support ticket, as you are essentially complaining that another player isn't giving you free money.

Asking our service provider about money trees is a bit like asking the pagan god Gwythyr about mobile telephone billing options.

They are a tad unrelated, and on different levels much in that manner. Nay, worse.

But you can ask here, and I'm sure someone will know something.

Good luck!

I heard Gwythyr prefers Chad

And has Odin, Loki and Hera in his circle.

Appreciate the answer, but I cannot find anyone on the island who is "in charge"...

Check "about land", it will show the owner of the land. If it is a group, check the owners of the group. Those are the people responsible. Voilá.

Well that's it: No point in putting a trouble ticket into a Money Tree.

This may or may not be the cause of the trouble
Money Trees no longer pay out to"Unveriified" residients.
Open your profile and check your Resident Status. If it says "No Payment Info On File" then this explains why the money trees aren't working.
Hope this helps.
But, in any case, LL is not responsible for difficulty with other residents' vendors, money trees, or what have you. If they help you with it, then they are going above and beyond.
Take it easy.

Philipp Rosedale used to be in charge, but I don't know whether he still works here.

*whisper* They have 'payment info used'

My guess, did the trees work for you at all, ever? Dont some have a limit of how much you can get? Curious, debating putting one out myself.

I really don't want to add to the frustration, but probably Money Trees and whatever surveys are found on Welfare Island aren't the kind of SecondLife experiences that will make one's time--or membership--worthwhile, even if one got them to work flawlessly. I think when I was new, I may have gotten a total of 10 Linden from a Money Tree, and that was nice of whoever set up the Money Tree, but it's not a very lucrative avocation, nor very exciting, among all the things to do in-world.

Perhaps it's not so evident to someone starting out, but as others have mentioned here, almost everything in SL is created by residents, not by Linden Labs. And those residents just aren't in-world much of the time, so there's very rarely anyone around who's "in charge." When one encounters difficulties or has questions about a specific thing, it's often best to investigate who owns it (as with the About Land suggestion) and leave that person an IM; most owners are pretty responsive, and like to know that folks are interested in their creations.

I used money trees extensively at the start and never had problems except with only a few trees, ever. But that was 9 months ago. It's an interesting way to get to know SL. Go to the master money tree center, and pop around to all kinds of sims!

I didn't feel that the experience was bad. In about 2-3 weeks, I finally decided to learn how to build - partly at the prodding of a friend who wanted to open a business.

It's been a good experience overall and I am not going to put the money trees down. They and camping subsidized my clothes and hair, and general fun and when I was lucky enough to find First Land, I went premium. (too bad First Land is gone). Now I'm concierge level.

These things are just stepping stones. Let them use it.

As for the OP, he's already premium - why shouldn't he be eligible to find the golden ticket? Speaking of which, Brenda asked a very important question that hasn't been answered:

You DO know that money trees aren't ATMs, right? You are not entitled to get money out of them - the money spawns randomly, and first one to take it gets it. PLUS there is a limit on how much you can pick in a day. If you exceed the limit, you are wasting your time and may even forfeit the money for someone else (can't remember).

Besides the hardly-ever-present Resident owners of things, there is another basic fact about SL.

There are, by a recent count, about 200 employees at Linden Labs, not all of whom can reasonably spend much or any time dealing with customer complaints. There are probably several hundred thousand regulars among the Residents, perhaps half a million. So that is maybe 2,500 Residents per employee, or 4 minutes of employee time per month per Resident, assuming a normal work week. And the Residents do have problems, with the grid and with each other.

Bottom line, needs to look pretty urgent to the Linden who sees your problem.
