Question about Land Auctions

I have a question about land auctions! There is a piece of land that I have had my eye on for awhile owned by Gov Linden. The other day I noticed it was Purple, which I take to mean it is up for auction. But it has not been listed in the Land Auctions page of the SL website! Is there another place to look for auctions? Have they just marked it for auction but not listed it yet? Just wondering! Also how do you make your Identity Protected when bidding on the auctions? I have looked and looked and can't find anything on keeping your Identity Protected. Any Information would be appreciated! Thanx

Try contacting Guy Linden directly. He runs the auctions. Give him the coordinates and the auction ID, and he can probably give you more detail.

I would also like to know how to protect your identity while bidding on auctions as im unable to find any information on how to do this also

if discretion is important to you, create a premium alt to do the bidding/purchasing then have him either hand the land off to you or deed it to a private group. the private group option will allow you to juggle tier and avoid paying tier from the two avs.

Your identity is protected during the bidding process -- when the auction ends the entire bidding history is revealed, so at that point unless you have used an alt to bid, then people will know who was bidding for what.

Do World->About Land on the parcel - if it's set to auction, an auction ID should be there, even if it hasn't made it to the auctions web page yet. You won't be able to bid on it but you'll be able to see that it's in the queue.

As for protecting your identity, that happens automatically for everybody. After the auction, anybody who wants to see who snagged the land can just go to the parcel and look at the owner. Not sure that's worth creating an alt for...
