Hey Guys, I'm new here. Iv noticed that things say, 'Mega Prims' & show the number of prims aside things such as condos and things. I was just wondering what the meaning of them are & what do they do & mean.
Thank you, Mannequin Sapphire x

The word prim is short for primitive. Basically, they are blocks. Simple geometric shapes. You put them together to build more complex objects.

Prims are the building blocks that everything in Second Life is made of. The houses, cars, chairs etc are all created by using prims. Mega prims are larger than normal prims created a while ago by people who found they could, but I don't know how they are done

What is important is the number of prims used to make something when you come to place it on land. Land supports a particular number of prims per square metre.
Example, a 512m2 parcel of land supports 117 prims, a 4096m2 supports 937. (Prim bonus excluded, this is where prims can be given as bonus by trading some land by using it for greenland or water). So, if you say 117 prims available, that 1 prim sculpted sofa that costs L$200 might in the long term prove to be the far better buy than the 50 prim sofa that you get as a freebie. |

About megaprims -
Ordinary prims can't be bigger than 10 meters in any direction. At certain times, it was possible to make ones that ARE bigger. Some are just enormous. They are handy when you're making things because you can use less prims. For instance, if you are making a platform that's 50x50 meters, you'd need 25 ordinary prims. But you can get a megaprim that's already 50x50, and that's only one prim. So you save 24 prims that you're free to use on something else. . _____________________

Legos.
The cool kids make the best toys with the fewest legos in SL. Counting legos is the sport of builders and land owners. _____________________
