Does anyone know the reason why when i log in the ground texture changes as seen in the pics, one time it is green then the next time i log in it is whitish

i have played around with the graphic settings but nothing seems to make the white area green as it should be

It's a long-standing bug, and one that annoys more than a few folks.

Thanks,it is annoying, just moved to this island and started to notice it,it's like a low ground fog covering the grass

You can have 2 accounts logged in on the same computer, flip from one screen to the other and the ground texture will be different on each screen. I finally learned to live with it, and it IS frustrating.

As I understand it, it's because of the way the ground textures are assigned. Depending on the height of the ground, you get a different texture...sand, grass, bare rock, etc. But the point at which the transition occurs is somewhat random, to give a more realistic feel to the terrain.

It's that random number generator that makes the textures variable. The closer your land is to being at a "transition zone" height, the more variablility you'll see.

I think i understand what you mean, that thought did occur to me,i might raise that section of land and see what happens, the higher land always stays green
You can see the difference in elevation in this pic,the higher being nice and green

I raised the land in that area and now it is all nice and green,i guess i was at that transition zone and that's why it kept changing
Thanks for the suggestion

Isn't this whole thing strange?

I was never bothered much by this until recently when I got some Heterocera coastline--the stuff with the funky rainbow coral shoreline. I noticed some of it was a nice sandy color, so I played with terraforming it to make a narrow beach, such that the sandy stuff was above water and the weird coral stuff was below water. Looked great.

Logged in the next morning and everything was different, so I re-terraformed it. Looked great.

Logged in the next morning and everything was coral.

So now I have a funky rainbow coral beach. I've decided it looks great. :o

That is a cool looking house, Nikita!

Did you buy it, or make it? And can I get a tour?

oooooh, shiny....

That is indeed a beautiful yacht. Much prettier than my little tub. I don't think it would fit in Lebettu Harbor though...
