No, this isn't another of those bash LL threads. On Vista when I close down Second Life I get a message: Second Life has stopped working. [Really?] A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. [I'm thinking it's because I hit CONTROL Q?] Windows will close the program [Good idea.] and notify you if a solution is available. [Good luck with that.] I can't wait for Windows 7! Anyone else getting this annoying Dilbertware message? It was funny the first fifty or so times I saw it.

It's probably not completely meaningless. If you turn on the command line option for debug logging (or something like that), you can probably see the process getting in trouble while cleaning up during exit... trying to release a resource that Vista has already stolen from it, maybe.
I agree about Win 7, though: I've been able to totally avoid Vista, and look forward to upgrading all these XP boxes to an OS that actually seems as if it will work.

I have vista..and when I close second life, without fail - even though it appears to close normally- after the viewer closes I get a message saying that SL crashed? and it tries to send the crash report to LL.
No idea why..it just does.

I used to get that a few viewers ago. I never did sort out what was going on, and it never seemed to cause anything to really break. you could try a different viewer release. I'm on 1.20.17 on Vista and it's not doing it _at the moment_

From: spinster Voom I'm on 1.20.17 on Vista and it's not doing it _at the moment_ That may be it. I'm using 1.21.6 and just recently deleted 1.20.17 installer from my Download folder. It's still in Recycle, so I may try that.

Windows 7 Beta is working very well, and the install was the easiest of any MS OS install. I use several different SL viewers and Windows 7 improves their performance.

I have Vista on my laptop (not my choice!) and every time I log off SL on it I get the same message. I've just been rolling my eyes and swearing about vista a little more. Doesn't fix a lot to be fair, but cheers you up a bit.

I am no where near techie- but I do know many people complain constantly about Vista- so the fact that there is a Windows 7 seems a) good finally done with Vista -for those who were afflicted with it - and b) what the hell was all that garbage commercials for "Windows Mojave- oh yea it's Vista" nonsense?
