How does it work if I wanted to sell land and get land somewhere else if I donated it all to a group?

Dont worry about the other group members. They're with me on this and it was all my land contributed for our needs.

How can it work to sell it without consequences, then buy the 10% for the group (which I have not done yet)?

Also, can I buy the 10% with the tier amt at the same time for the group - is the calculation with LL instantaneous? - or will it have to be done in two parts?

Thanks from a real estate moron.

Tier donated regardless if you sale land is still there unless you go down in tier through account page and they or you remove it from your group contributions
I have no clue if they remove tier donated from group, I don't they just remove it without you donating more I think.
If you don't want to share the procedes of sell or advertising costyou need to make sure you've haven't select something about members sharing contributions....so I don't exactly word for word remember correct settings or terms because it's been a while I don't need to check it any more but you can also look it up the knowledge base in help inworld.

So if I want to sell a piece of my contribution I need to resell it back to myself from the group first, then buy for the group the new land? Is that the procedure?

Based on the KBs, it *looked* like I had to deduct the land's sqm in the group land tab first showing my total contributions and then sell it back to myself...

If your tier level allows it, just set the land for sale and buy land somewhere else. If that would mean moving up a tier level, you just have to wait until the land is sold - or pay the extra. As long as the group owns land, it must have tier contributions to support it.

When the land is sold, remove that part of your tier contribution.

it depends..

Holocluck, it depends on a few factors..

how quickly do you want to sell the land?
how much tier do you have personally?

If you own group land that you want to sell, you can either set it for sale and wait until someone buys it.. or you can sell it to yourself and then sell it.

Either way, after group land is sold.. the tier you donated to the group is still held by that group. so, you need to manually lower that before buying new land (unless you have tier to spare, in which case it wouldn't matter much). You manually adjust your donations in the Group Information window (Land & L$ tab), next to where it says "Your Contribution:". So, if you need all the tier you had donated for the land, change that number to "0".

If the land is sold while still owned by the group, then the proceeds will be distributed to everyone who has the "make/receive payments" permission enabled. If you want to keep all of the money, you either have to make sure that you're the only one with that permission.. or sell the land to yourself (for L$0), then sell it publicly.

As far as the 10% goes.. if the group has tier remaining, you can deed up to that amount of land at any time. (granted, you will need the tier to cover it when buying it.. it is an automatic calculation. so, if you buy land and deed it to the group 5 minutes later, you will still need the personal tier to cover it for those 5 minutes)

in short (to answer "How does it work if I wanted to sell land and get land somewhere else if I donated it all to a group?";):

- sell land (to someone else, whether it's to yourself first or directly from group to anyone)
- lower tier (in Group information window, Land & L& tab, Your Contribution field)
- buy land (any amount up to and including the extra 10%, making sure you have tier to cover it before it's deeded to the group)
- deed land (with "Owner Makes Contribution..." checked if you're supplying all the tier for the group to own that land)
- do happy dance (unless something went horribly wrong)

hopefully that helps :)

Have the group active and About Land / Buy for Group combines those three into one simple step without having to mess with tier contributions and you have the instant 10% benefit at the time of purchase :).

Thanks both of you.

I hear so many horror stories of people trying to sell to themselves and some hellbot takes their land. I just have to be careful to avoid that trap and specify a recipient. But I have it.

I am at the edge of my tier, and times being what they are, it's going to HURT to carry the next one (another $15 on top of what I pay, PLUS the land), but I realize I have a lot of options available to me with that tier paid for the month, such as dabbling with costs of land for sale etc. I'll have a month to work within that while grabbing the new land up.
