What do you do with your free "512"?

I'm curious as to what other premium residents do with their free tier 512. When I first got my premium membership I bought a 512 sq meter plot , rezed a small freebie house and build a few things. Before long I realized that my thirst for building was going to require a lot more then the 117 prims.

I now have my own Island which allows me to build to my hearts content. But what to do with the 512? Reading in another post regarding inventory management I decided to turn my 512 mainland plot into a storage facility. I could sort out all my inventory folders and put many of the items into properly named storage boxes. Sounds like a plan!

So using my Island as a sandbox I hollowed out a 15x30x12 mega prim and made myself a two story four prim skybox that fits nicely on the 512. I go to the mainland plot rez the skybox and move it up to 3.000 m figuring to keep it from being an eyesore to others. LOL after trying several different elevations it seems that there is as much if not more building going on in space as there is on the ground. :o

I built a garden on my first 512 (back when the First Land program was still around) because I just couldn't imagine what I would do with a house in a virtual world where no shelter was needed.

So, I built a garden (surprise) instead.

Ran out of prims.

The rest is history.

My first 512 is a pond in the middle of a bayou owned by myself and a bunch of other people who have donated their 512s to the cause.

I created another premium account, and have 1024 sq.m. Then I created a group, deeded the land, and got the extra 10%. I felt like a needed a few extra prims, so I rented some tier... about another 1000sq.m worth. I have a home and a large garden in a walled enclosure about a mile in the air, with a big flat platform beneath it to build on.

I'm really living beyond my means, so I'm likely to tier down to just the 512 + 10%. This will mean losing the house and reducing the garden considerably. Getting rid of the house won't be a big deal; it's more a large, pretty object in my garden than anything really useful.

When I was Premium I used my 512 for a home for a couple of months before deciding Estate living was more to my liking. I sold that parcel, bought some shoes and donated the 512 to The Forum Cartel where it stayed for about a year until I downgraded to basic.

My first 512 was an LL first land plot on the southern continent, surrounded by all kinds of ugly. Wasn't long before I knew I needed something better. Held onto it and sold it about a year ago. Now my free 512 sits in my home sim as empty prim land.

My free 512 (and what I pay tier for) is deeded to the group I share with my partner, and that holds our land. Trees, plants and a couple of horses on ground, large Japanese-inspired garden in the sky.

My 512, along with about 3 times as much adjoining land, is deeded to Egotherapy Land Holdings, which is co-owned by me and my functionary non-executive robotic black ball alt .

Egotherapy Land Holdings sounds a bit like I'm a land baroness, but in fact at the moment that group only owns the land around my home and a small parcel of prim land - all in the same sim.

I've been lucky enough to have twice found 4096 lots with adjoining 512's on two different parcels I owned. Currently the 512 just adds a little offshoot to my garden gallery, and a few more prims than I would have otherwise.

It became part of my home, future shop and workshop.

And my occasional photo studio :)

Mine was added to a group of friends' 512s who have tried to turn an ordinary bit of mainland into a beautiful garden, and the scheme has gradually grown, with more neighbours joining and friends moving in. We really love it there, sharing a garden home together, and having a creek-digging project to keep us interested. But of course 117 prims is never enough, so I've had to add to it a tiny bit.

I've got a rather innocuous hillside in Alice region still. I don't do much with it; sometimes I zip over to a sky platform I have there for a bit of quiet.

I try to blend in and be pretty much unnoticeable amongst the others there at ground level.

And with yesterday's shopping my 512 has a lovely 10.296 sq.m to keep it company, and we can plant a few more trees. *does a happy dance*

Waves back over that low wall thingo...hiya Argent and co....It's looking good over your side. We are slowly working on winning all of Sinaburoe.

You might want to put up some invisible prims your side of the wall. We put it up back when we had that part of Sinaburoe to keep from drifting over the sim boundary. We did a lot of cooperative building with the first lot of people who picked up that land, and I'd be happy to extend the power lines your way so you can pick up power from our generator.

Oh thanks for the offer..you are kind. We have an underground cable/tunnel system now instead, and have gone with solar. (Which works great when you can opt to have as much daylight as you want.) If you want any connecting tunnels dugged though, just yell.
