Parcel and Prims Question

Ok...so we have sold some parcels on private islands. The prims are set at the time we make the parcels. If a new owner/resident would like more prims, is there a way to add them to the parcel total? I can see the way to increase the prims for the entire region in the region tools, but not if you can add some to a specific parcel now "owned" by someone else...

Thanks!

Hi Jojogirl,

From what I remember of my brief private estate experience, you can set the parcel multiplier under the estate tools, if you've already set up the entire sim to be 2.x prims with LL (someone please correct me if I'm wrong!) It would be a good idea to subtract that same amt of prims from some other parcel (like a seldom used public walkway) in order to maintain balance. I think. :)

Yes, it boosts the parcel limit for the entire island.

ok so anyone with any creative ideas on how to increase the prims for this one parcel? the only thing i could think of was to make another adjoining parcel and link them to allow the additional prims that way.

The old fashioned way, yes.

That is correct. The prim multiplier affects the entire region, the only way to give more prims to a single parcel is to give the parcel owner more land.

It doesn't have to be adjoining though. You could section off a little unused corner anywhere on the sim and deed it to them.

It doesn't have to be connected land though. If you have any water space or areas that are not used, you can set ownership those spaces to the land holdings of the parcel you want to 'boost' and set them to no-build. That prim count to the parcel owner will be cumulative and they don't even have to know where the 'bonus' parcels are. (^_^)

I'm doing that exact thing on my mainland plot. I have my 512 parcel, but I also 3 16m parcels scattered about the same sim. They're set with a 1 minute autoreturn, have no other real restrictions, and are noted in the parcel description to be up for trade for parcels that conjoin with my main. (^_^)

It works out really well for me. 9 extra prims doesn't sound like much until I actually put them to use. (^_^)y

True, but joining is slightly easier for administrative purposes. When it's abandoned, you don't have to worry about fixing up that other plot. You could just re-let the plot as is.

You just need to find some land somewhere on your island you can sell this person for L$0 to increase their prim count and sometimes it's better if the parcel isnt' adjacent, that it's some unused plot because then if they leave you can sell it as a normal parcel again.

When you have paths, streams and/or roadways you can make them a little bit wider and use the edges as a prim reserve for people who want more.
