So in the past few days, I have had 3 incidents where I'm certain that when I logged in, I wasn't wearing everything I was wearing when I logged off. It's possible there have been additional instances, but there are 3 I'm certain of. Items no longer worn at login have been at different times SL clothing layers (pants, oh no, what is my avatar DOING when I'm not here?), HUDs (my Mysti and AO, neither of which I ever remove), and this time, prim attachments (my left shoe).

It is amusing, but I was curious about whether it's just me or whether maybe there's something going on at a greater scale since the last round of server updates. Anyone else experiencing this in the past few days?

I been getting this, on logins and teleports.
Some one posted it might be incomplete logouts, not saving your settings. worn ones or something.
Also been getting things shown as! worn to my view but not to others and can't detach, but have to replace w/ something else to reput back on what I had.

My ISP has been la crap lately due to their neighborhood tinkering, too many users, not enough equipment.

*bump*

Friend reported it too yesterday; for him it seems to be limited to scripted attachments though?

http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-8588 is the only one I could find (which needs some editing to make it more of a "proper" JIRA issue)

Did you type worn into the inventory search feature? See, the reason I'm asking is because of this really entertaining bug that would shove prim attachments (including AO and HUD) up your bum. It wouldn't surprise me at all to find this bug is back.

If they bring back the 'bent-over-double' bug at the same time, it will make such attachments much easier to find.

That one's back with 1.20 release .

In addition there's the highly amusing "Stop All Animations" bug... your hip will suddenly become quite bendy so your avie looks like one of the bouncing spring puppet thingies from the waist up. You'll bend backwards all the way, then spring forward, slide to the side and spring back :p.

I dont find this amusing in any case. Especially in light of:

Not that this has a lot of bearing on that issue -- that one is wearing things directly from the ground, isn't it? I have never in over a year in SL done that. Honestly, LL could disable that function and I wouldn't miss it, and it would stop a lot of complaining from people who lose stuff that way.

I was mostly concerned because in my case, it was different things. Some were scripted (my HUDS, which were detached and not hiding in my rear, thankfully!), some were just prim attachments, and some were actual clothing layers. If it had been all scripted items or all clothing layers, I would have been less confused. Slightly.

I'd rather it be scripted items only. That whole "make sure you are decently dressed before you log off" thing makes no difference if SL randomly undresses you anyhow.

version 20 - attachments bug
08-31-2008 09:21
i mentioned this to kitty previously. I have recently 'foolishly' downloaded
the newest SL version, now everytime i log in, my avi is mysteriously bereft
of all attachments and HUD's. Its a major hassle having to re-attach all the things again
and puts me at a serious disadvantage when your RADAR is down (need to know who is
sneaking up behind me lol), especially when you are rezzed back into the action so to speak.

Also unable to talk to friends straight away as you have too much other stuff to sort first.

Anyone got a straightforward answer to this, that a thick bloke can understand without going durrr?
thanks dog
