I'm doing a research on the identities in second life...
I need to do some interviews...is there anybody who wants to do a chat with me?
It is something very simple and I think interesting...

My Dad, who is a 'real' professor who can feel a P (h.D) through 20 matrices, explains it is better to live here for a while and learn the culture and talk to people naturally before doing a 'research' onto them. But maybe I meet you.... nobody ever did a research onto me. It sounds nice. Give me a call.  . |

I work with professors, at university. I'm a lecturer. For a survey, you don't just go somewhere saying "Um, how about a little chat." That sounds extremely unprofessional to me.

Something else, which might sound harsh but is the truth-if you want to conduct a proper scientific survey in English, you need to be able to use it properly. I have read many a scholarly article supposed to show "internationality" by using English, but ending up sounding like a school kid's homework. It undermines both your personal credibility as well as the validity of the survey you're doing.

An anonymous survey would probably be the best route to go. Not sure how you'd go about that in SL.
My SL identity is just MEEE, as I found myself during my first stumbling steps on Orientation Island in September 2006. I'm a bit more grid-wise now and I've enhanced my appearance a bit here and there, but always in keeping with my original aspirations.

Hmmm me thinks we are are not being as friendly with our replies as we couild be, perhaps the guy is trying to be casual about his request so as not to scare off too many. Seems pretty reasonable to me, I have more spare identities than I know what to do with, one of them interviewing another is no cause for alarm
