Hi,
I've got a 2048 plot for sale (details in my profile picks inworld). So far I haven't had any serious interest in it, and I'm wondering if it is because of its size. Maybe that is not a popular size?
For those of you that sell a lot of land, is it best to sell it as a single 2048 plot (it's nice and flat), break it into two 1024 plots, or (God forbid), four 512 plots?
I would appreciate you input about this.
Thanks, Princess Ivory

512s sell the the fastest and are the most popular by far. But if you create them, you run the risk of one selling to someone who ruins the look of the area, including a potential sale to an ad cutter.
I would divide into two 1024s or lower the price and leave it as a 2048.

princess, you didn't say how much you are asking for that 2K. might it be overpriced for the area?
i had a 9K plot on the market in early november. after a few weeks, i too considered breaking it up into ... what i didn't know. a few 4Ks? even more 2Ks? or, god forbid, a gaggle of 512s?
instead, i lowered my price a bit. and a few weeks later, someone bought the 9K plot as is.
granted, it was on the market for 1-1/2 months ... but i didn't have the problem of having broken up the big piece, selling SOME of them ... and being stuck with a bunch of disconnected, unsalable 512s.
in any case, be patient. also, don't forget that rl holidays might have taken up any discretionary money avies might have set aside for land purchases.

I've just cut a 2048 into a 1024 and 2 x 512. I think people like choice like that.

I'd suggest 2 x 1024s. If someone wants a 2048, they can buy both and join them.
512s are good, and they do sell. Many are sold not to use, but as extra prims for another piece of land in the same sim.

I reshaped into 512s, and dropped the price per sqm slightly. That was enough to do it. When I went by the other day to see who bought it, I see that all the plots are being flipped, and are back on the market for a higher price! Good luck to them, I guess, I couldn't get a higher price!

Princess Ivory This is precisely the behavior that ran up prices last winter. Repeat, rinse 2-3x and then you see why end users start refusing to buy land. This, on top of the high auction prices, kept land at staggeringly high prices. When the market price is high, the market becomes among resellers who think they can get a bit of profit. Obviously, some do... but the net effect of this is the stagnation of the land market that leads to LL flooding the market with sims at auction. And then we have the crash that happened this summer.

And then we have the crash that happened this summer. I know what you mean. I bought high last winter, and sold low in the summer. Ouch. Took a beating but there was nothing else to do. I'd hate to see that happen again. I would have preferred to sell it as a single 2048, but there weren't any takers. It was a nice flat piece on the top of a hill, and would have been nice for a house or store. We had our store in the sky when we were there, and landscaped the ground. Princess Ivory

Princess Ivory I don't think 2048's are popular, ironically 2 1024's together seem to appeal more than 1 2048. I think it's the shape.

Oops I just crashed. I'll be by later. I'm rolling out a redesign for my little club and it's almost finished! It's beautiful
