I'm no expert, but people have reported problems with Vista and ATI graphics cards. IGB RAM could also be a little 'light'.
Check out the Technical issues forum. I'm sure you'll get better answers there.

The graphics card shares it memory with the main system memory, there won't be a lot left to run Vista and SL once the graphics card has taken its lump.

Better to find one with seperate graphics memory, ideally an Intel processor and Nvidia graphics.

Would be hard to make SL work on that laptop..
I recently bought a Vista laptop - AMD x2 1.6 Ghz too, but with 2 GB of RAM and a GeForce videocard. SL runs beautifully on it (with a lower FPS compared to the desktop ofcourse)

My advice, invest in RAM and Videocard (Make sure you get GeForce) and you'll be fine.

I think it is too little RAM to comfortably run SL. Also the graphics chip looks a bit underpowered to me.

I have used several laptops with SL. In busy places you can easily be using over 1 GB of memory.

My suggestion would be to at least increase the memory to 2 GB. Getting a laptop with a better graphics chip (the ones with their own memory are best IMO), would help a lot, but I appreciate that choices are often limited with laptops.

For your information I use a Toshiba Tecra M9 2.2 GHz Centrino pro dual core with a Nvidia NVS 130 graphics chip and 2 GB RAM. It runs SL quite happily.

Of course this is my company laptop bought for me by the evil multinational I work for. To over compensate I have named the laptop George which is nice and inoffensive.

The ATI 1200 graphics card is not very good. An ATI 1600 or newer, or an nVidia 7xxx or better would be much better.
