Hey there, I'm trying to register my little brother for the teen second life grid. He's 16, so it shouldn't be a problem.
I've put in all the correct information, used his email, name, date of birth, and even a security question he picked out but there's 2 things wrong.
First being the verification part. How does that even make sense? Wouldn't it be smarted to have those OVER 18 verify with paypal or a mobile phone? My younger brother has neither of these and I don't own a mobile phone yet.
The second is that even with his age being 16, it still tells me that I can't register him because he's under 13 years of age. What the heck is this about?
I'd love to get some help here cause he's been nagging me to play for the past week and I'd rather set up his account than have him going at it, as he's not exactly proficient with computers (he's played a total of 1 game on a PC and otherwise only uses word for school stuff).

are you outside the US? Teen grid registration outside the US was broken for about 18 months. It's supposed to be fixed now, but I haven't tried it - my son got fed up waiting and moved on to other interests. The DOB problem sounds familiar. If I get time and remember I'll dig out the jira link.
I'd try a support ticket.

OMG .... there is a 16yo out there that doesn't do computer games!!!! Give that kid a medal....don't introduce him to SL!!!! I'm sorry I have no wisdom to add on this one.....but good luck. I have a nephew who really wants to check out SL too.....but so far he hasn't tried cause he's just too busy with all his other stuff. (I'm sorta relieved in a way)

I was ounce a teen on teen secondlife. For your brother verify his account he will either have to verify his account by mobile phone or paypal. When i registered for teen i secondlife. I had to send them a copy of my proof of age but that was before they changed the way teens register for the teen grid.
