Hi,

i need good prim water to cover a pond of 25x25 meters... It should not have visible seams, so i guess it has to be a megaprim or something with a really wicked texture animation.

any hints or suggestions?

thanks,
LC

I'll pass you prim water that I just made. You can edit it as you want.

It's pretty easy to make.

1. Get a 25x25xwhatever megaprim. The SALT HUD, available for free on XStreetSL, is an easy way to do this.

2. Texture it transparent with the default 100% transparent texture in your Library.

3. Texture the top surface with a water texture. You can find a lot of water textures in free texture collections.

4. Add motion to the texture using a free "texture rotation" script. Again, you can find this in world for free, or check the scripting library in these forums.

5. For extra realism, add a water burbling sound and a script to play it.

i tried that... when you put a water texture on a megaprim it gets pixelated like hell. and when you use texture animations in lsl you cant set a repeat...

thats why i'm asking here.

@calveen: thanks a bucket, will try yours asap.

I just happened to have the exact same question today, it's easy to make prim water but pretty hard to make good-looking, convincing prim water. Mind sending one to me too, Calveen? Pretty please? :)
