SecondLife Release Candidate

hiya guys

just after some help regarding the sl viewer.

I have the normal sl software and for the last 2 weeks ive had the viewer and im having problems getting both to work at the same time.

sometimes it works straight away and then for some reason sometimes doesnt, just comes up with

"second life is already running..check for minimized copy of the program if this message persists restart you computer"

i restart the computer and try again yet still comes up with the same message. ive even unintalled and reintalled it and it doesnt do anything. anyone know why?

try this to run multiple clients on the same machine.

right click on your desktop SL icon

go to propertes

see the line called Target?

add at the end of the command line 1 space (the one space is very important) and then:

-multiple


choose apply and then ok

you can now run SL 50 or more times if your puter can handle it and you have that many accounts


Its also possible to use alternative clients like Nicholas or others side by side with the official client(s) some are less taxing on your graphics card than the official clients (does anyone remember pre-windlight?)

You cant log the same account in at the same time btw

I think I saw somewhere in the Release Candidate thread (up near the top of the forums main page) that someone had a problem with SL's process not stopping even though they had closed the program.

Try looking in the Windows Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) to see if SL is still running, and manually close it from there, if it is.
