q re: suspention and IM's

so my paypal deposit has taken so long that my main account has been suspended. im not too fussed about that, i have alts to use and they have permission to edit my objects, are estate managers, etc.
there is one thing ive noticed though, and that is that there are no more im-to-emails coming through. i understand that ppl may not find me in search anymore, but not even spammy objects are emailing me anymore.
i am curious, will there be any IMs awaiting me when i restore my account and log in? will notecards that have been dropped on me still be there? i see that my $L balance is increasing, so obviously the av still gets payments, but what about everything else?
and is it normal for a forum suspension to follow the av lockout by nearly a week? or is it possible the forum suspention is unrelated? cos i can still log into my account page, just not the forum.
anyone have any experience with this?

Sorry, Set. No personal knowledge and looking at the LL knowledge base on this is.. vague at best. At least for your situation.

All it really says is the account becomes "dormant". I am going to take that to mean not able to get IMs, etc.

Can't help with your main question, but you should raise a support ticket (if you haven't already) if your Premium account payment hasn't gone through. Premium members who miss payment - for whatever reason - risk having their account *deleted* not just suspended. In fact, that may have already happened, and could be the reason you're no longer getting IM-to-email...

wait so a premium account making a monthly 9.95 payment gets no access to their account if they go late with their 9.95 a month?
i would figure they would just drop you to a PIOF options or something that would kill perms to lands or something like that until they got their 9.95..

i know it would be a pain in the butt.but i mean it just makes more sense to drop off premium advantages than cut off to the account in total access..

I agree, Ceka. It sucks. Downgrading the account to a basic one would be far better. Every premium member should be voting for that JIRA, because it's a case of "there but for the grace of Paypal/[name of credit card company]..."

Ceka, yes, it is stupid, especially when LL is usually the cause of all billing errors. For all that they have Paypal listed as a payment option, they sure don't like using it to collect payments. We see a lot of people having trouble using Paypal to buy L$ or pay fees.. even though they have the money in Paypal to cover it.

But to make it completely stupid, if you don't pay within a certain time frame for your premium accounts, they can and will delete your inventory and account. It's not just a matter of any owned land reverting to Gov Linden and your L$ being confiscated to cover costs, it's also the account and everything you own in it that goes bye-bye.

What I normally suggest is starting a draft to Paypal well in advance of the premium fee due date. Or cashing out just enough L$ to cover the fees. Anything that adds a USD balance to your account that LL can draw from, rather than wait for THEM to charge you.

I just sell L to cover USD, and the credit card is a backup. Billing is such a nightmare. I'm extremely fortunate to not have had any problems so far.

I've voted already the JIRA, but, I've made an alt that will not make anything. As soon as my period of premium membership is close to renew (I've paid for a year), I will upgrade this alt (that has nothing) and he (it is a masculine alt - found an utility for a male ) will donate the fees to the group, than I will get back my donated fees and downgrade to basic. This way, if I have any problem with payments, it is this alt that will be at risk, and all that he has to lose will be the land.

It is not a perfect solution... during the change of premiums, I will have to double pay the fees, but it will let me feel more secure.

I seldom deal directly with LL billing, partly on account of all the horror stories like this.

I have a yearly Premium membership, so I only have to worry about ONE billing to my credit card. Tier is paid by selling L$. If I need to buy L$, I buy them on XStreet, after transferring money to my XStreet account via Mass Pay from PayPal (only a $1.00 fee!)
