I wonder if anyone has the answer to this at all? I have collected a mighty mountain of things in my Inventory. I have noticed that some of these things are no longer rezzable. I cannot drop them to the floor nor can I wear them. No messages are given, the sound that accompanies an inworld rezz sounds and then ... nothing. When I try to wear the object (clothing or attachments ones that seem to suffer the same problem) The item is not highlighted as worn, nor does the text change to show it is worn either - again no message is given. I once thought that this was lag and/or the sim I was in but these items cannot be coaxed out anywhere I have been or at any time.
Are these items lost for good? Any good advice?

This has been going on with some of my inventory items for a long time - not just this week. If it was just this week I would not have posted this but waited to see instead. I have been trying to rezz these items now periodically for a fairly long time with no success.

Ok. Yeah. After 3 relogs it seems ok and faster now. Sorry to hear it's a persistant problem. I can't help but say I guess you've tried to rez in others sims. Or have you tried to drag them into a rezzed box prim and drag out of that to ground. Just a thought.

I'd submit a support ticket over it.
I don't know what you're trying to rez, but a few weeks ago I remember hearing that some scripted objects that used their object name and/or description fields to store data were placing illegal characters there (things you were never able to type, but LSL could do), and if you took such an object into inventory, it would never rez again. They modified LSL (I think) to prevent this from happening again, but the broken objects will never be able to rez.
If you don't think this applies to you, you should contact support (assuming you've done a full uninstall\reinstall of the client, cleared cache, etc, because they will ask if you've done that).

I have problems with stuff not wanting to rez at times. But when I drag it so that it is touching another prim it will. Try creating a prim box, then dragging the item from inventory to in world where it touches the box.

Thanks for the suggestions,
Wildfire - since this problem started I have over time changed machines completely and the problems still persists. These are objects that belong to commercial products for the most part and they used to rezz just fine. The problem seems to be fairly rampant through the earliest items I have acquired.
Kornscope and Chris, I will give your suggestions a go next time I am in world.
Otherwise as Wildfire has suggested I will have to file a support ticket.
Thanks again.

I am having this same problem and have seen several reports of it on the forums. I have created a JIRA issue for it: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-2207 If you are having this problem, please go to JIRA and vote for this issue.

OK, so I have some resolution for this. I submitted a support ticket and then got the standard try relog, clear cache and the ticket got closed. So I reopened it and put that I had tried all these things before submitted the ticket (stupid me for not putting that in but I thought I had covered all the loopholes in my descriptions). Anyway I get a response later that the ticket has not been escalated to the Inventory support team.
So after a few hours and not hearing anything more I decide to try and rez the items I now have in a folder called something like "No Longer Rezzes" and they rezzed first time - every single one of them.
So far no comment from the support team but it is definitely worth putting in a ticket if you have this problem.

Important Update!

Gabriele, this is consistent with a notice I just got on the Volunteers' Mailing List:
"The item was archived off to near line storage. There was a blog posting about this 6 months or more ago. Basics are, if a long un-used item fails to rez, wait 30 minutes and try again. The request prompts the data base to recover the item from the archive."
Everyone who is having problems with non-rezzing items should try this procedure.

*laughs* Lindal, I have been trying these objects in a variety of ways and places for the last month or so. I don't think that storage was all that near. Thanks for the info though.

Gabriele, I'd noticed this on and off with stuff in my inventory. (Noticed it on and off, the failure to rez was consistent.) I finally decided last week to start a folder of stuff that wouldn't rez. It had two items in it, because I'd just started it, and I'd tried them both on more than one occasion (days apart) with no result.
Monday I tried one of them, just to confirm it was still gone - and it wasn't. The other rezzed, too.
Lindal, I'd heard that too, but only for items that failed to rez with the "Object not in Database" message, not the stealth failure to rez. I was under the understanding that this is a new and different issue.
So, my stuff is back, but I'm seriously wondering just what's going on behind the scenes...

Yes Nic, that is exactly what happened in my case too - I had started moving items that would not rez into a "broken" folder but they stayed borked still for some time. Then as soon as my ticket gets escalated - they appear to be normal again. Very odd and I agree makes you wonder what is going on back there.

I am not experiencing this right now but I did have last week pants that wouldn't rezz and tons of stuff in my inventory disappear not sure what exactly though it went from 35k to 20k a bit back ago and lot of my stuff I first bought when I was newer or built wouldn't rezz got these weird puzzled shaped looking boxes that was few months back. I think in frustration I may have deleted lot of stuff.

JIRA #SVC-2129 has a long, running commentary on this issue. It appears to have resolved recently for at least some people, but LL has not given out any information (as far as I am aware) on what the cause of the problem is or what they did to resolve it.
