Amethyst .tattle TOS?

I was wondering if the .tattle feature of amethyst collars (Maybe a plugin not sure)violates the TOS in any way? What it does is sends the submissives owner an IM of everything the submissive says, so monitoring their chat to ensure nothing bad is happening.... But is that allowed? Just wondering, a different thread said something that makes me think that it might be a violation if used.

it would not be violating if the wearer says it is ok for it to do it
if the wearer (sub) doesn't know it is doing it, and would not agree to it if they knew, then yes it would be a violation

basically if a person agrees to anything, it is not violating the TOS, it is only when someone doesn't agree, or doesn't know it is happening to them

for instance, you can orbit me if I say it is ok, and that is not griefing or against the TOS, but if you do it without my permission, wham AR coming your way hehe

Does it just record what the Sub says or everyone near the sub?

Just the sub, I believe it activates only when the collars owner (The sub) says something, and just relays that to the subs owner. I haven't tested it yet though.

K if the sub agrees to it - probably it should ask the sub if it can record his/her side of conversations.

That probably isnt a violations.

Recording conversations of other people the sub is talking to would be unless they also knew it was being recorded.

Is it really so odd, in a virtual world where you cannot "really" lock someone up or inflict pain and pleasure? SL D/s is completely about the mental/emotional. Lacking true physical restraints, We have to use other methods of control. Turning that around, the submissive has very few ways they can give themselves over to the Dom/me other than things like this.

I've seen it used in a scenario where the Domme put the sub in a public situation (as a punishment), but monitored them so she could take them out if need be.

I've turned it on for Mine before, its just another tool. Frankly, its not as exciting as you'd think... I have trouble keeping up with My own chat sometimes, and having to hear 1/2 of the girls' is often too annoying.

Let's also insert another reality check - IMs are still private. This monitors only one side of the conversation (the sub's) and they get a specific notice from the collar when the feature is turned on. What two consenting people do is between them and (back to the OP), not against TOS. Its really nothing to get excited about.
