This is driving me crazy - I don't want background music on part of my land, but the 'Sound Settings/Music URL' box on the About Land/Media tab keeps changing from blank to "http://82.182.121.75:8003/" every day or so. I keep deleting it, I've experimented with the various options for restricting spatialized sound, and voice settings, but nothing seems to stop it. There aren't any objects on the land belonging to anyone else, and I have it set to not allow people to run scripts there, so I can't see how someone else could be changing this.
Anyone got any ideas how to stop this once and for all?

My best guess is that you have given someone "Modify my stuff" permissions and they are playing a joke on you. Look at your friends list and look at the rightmost checkbox for all your friends; if it is checked they have modify rights on your stuff. If my guess is correct, you have a kind friend as that permission grant allows them to delete anything you have in game; a harmless practical joke is far nicer. Another possibility is that someone has given you an attachment or object that changes the parcel music; finding that would be a bit harder. I'm not sure that modify permissions allow someone to change the parcel media. You also don't mention if this is group owned land which is another whole can of worms

I was having a similar but different problem Wednesday evening. Trying to change the URL (first via my "radio", then manually). Once I changed it, the sound went away. I had to log off and back on before it picked up playing the new station.
Several people that arrived at my party told me they didn't hear any music. A couple relogged for me and said that it was playing for them, too.
Sounds like another possible bork?

No, none of my friends have the ability to modify my objects. And (if it's relevant,) it only happens on one parcel out of a dozen I own. That sounds likelier, but also rather trickier Any idea how I could go about finding such an object? (preferably without having to empty the land - there are too many hours of work invested in the build there to want to have to start again from scratch!) Psimagus and I looked over the parcel; it was over 5000m of bustling scripts, any one of which could have been rouguishly changing the parcel media.
The solution was a cheap and dirty hack, a script that nulled out the media url periodically. We learned nothing in the endeavor, but my expectation that it is a SL bug is much reduced.
