My friend and I bought parcels (512 square meters each) side by side. How would we join each others parcels to make a 1,024 square meter parcel with out us having to pay a tier fee?

You can't join land that belongs to 2 different people, so one of you would have to sell the land to the other, which would mean that the one ending up with the land would have to pay tier on the extra 512. Or...
You could create a group and each of you deed the land with tier to the group. The land would be group owned and could be joined without increasing either tier. If both of you have full powers in the group, either one of you could get the land for him/herself from the other should some animosity occur - the quickest one would win - but it would mean the increase of tier for that person. _____________________

Starting a group, with you both as group owners and both having an alt in group. Selling the land and donating tier to the group. But don't donate tier until you use the Buy for group land option. The buy for group option will give the option to donate tier to the group as you buy. This should work. Unless things have changed.

First form a group (it will cost you L$100) with you two as both owners. Then, each of you deeds your parcel to the group. Then, either of you joins the two parcels together. You can find details on each step here in the forum, but it's not difficult. IM me in world if you see me there and I can help you out.
The tricky part is deeding to the group. You must wear your group tag, and you first set the land's group to your group. Then there will be a checkbox saying something about deeding the land, you click it and then punch the Deed button. Make sure you tell it that you are donating your tier with the land. You will be all set. Sorry I don't remember all the details! _____________________

Listen to Jackie, been a while since I had done it.
But make sure your group has you both as owners and make sure you each have an alt in the group. This is for your protection. _____________________

Seems that I also remember some tick box that had language something to the effect "Owner Makes Contribution to Group", but I'm not inworld to check ATM.
Also, after you transfer to group, if you want them to truly be connected to play the same music on both parcels, either group owner can click on one parcel, edit land, drag the yellow box acoss the border, and say "Join Land". (I think that's right . . . doing it from memory here.) |
