"Drag" it from your inventory ( eft click and hold) to the floor and release.
Then Ctrl + 3 (edit) and position. |

Also it may be "boxed".
in which case you need to drag the "box" to the floor and follow the instructions to un-pack the items to your inventory. Then follow the above instructions to place individual items. |

I'm still having a problem after trying these tips. The items never materialize.

Are you renting a place? If so, you may have to wear the group tag to be able to rez objects. Are you getting a blue pop up in the corner telling you that you cannot create objects?

But is it your land? And, remember, it's only truly yours if you have a Premium account and purchased on the Mainland...otherwise, the need for the proper group and tag still stands.

No, it's my house. so one assumes you can rez a building, or was it already there and your renting the house? _____________________

It's my house and my land that I bought on the mainland. I'll hire someone. The furniture suite is from Hoffman Designs. There are 14 separate items.

OK...we've established that it's your land. Good. Next, how many prims can you have out on your land...and how many prims do you have there already? And how many prims is the piece of furniture you are trying to rez? You can find out the answers to the first two questions by right clicking your land and selecting About Land from the pie menu. Look at the Objects tab...see how many prims are allowed and how many are on the parcel. Next, click the Refresh button and see who owns those prims. You can select any that don't belong to you and Return them, freeing up additional prims for yourself. [EDIT: You did say it was "your house". I'm assuming that means that you either bought it and put it there on your land, or you built it, or the previous owner specifically transferred ownership to you. If those are not true, and the house was on the land when you bought it, it might not be "your" house in terms of who owns the prims. In that case, if you Return other people's prims, you could vanish your house. Caveat avatar!] The problem might also be general SL borkiness. Sometimes, when the load on the grid is high or SL is just broken at that particular time, objects will take forever to rez, or not rez at all. To test this, try to rez something besides your furniture...maybe an item from your Library. If it doesn't rez, the problem is not the furniture, it's SL. Solution: wait a couple of hours and try again. Now...assuming that you have enough free prims to support your furniture, and SL is not being weird, if the items STILL do not rez, then send the maker an IM and a notecard and ask for assistance. _____________________

I don't think theres a need to hire someone. Try out Lindal's suggestion of checking your prim availability. If you still don't have it figured out later this evening, you can IM me and I will come take a look or I'm sure there are others here who could stop by and check it out sooner.

Well, as it turns out, although I have paid L2550 for a living room suite, it actually isn't in my inventory. All I have is some sort of a note card, not a box. I have confirmed there is nothing by getting the expert opinion of a respected interior decorator. There has been a glitch. The sellers, a well known SL company husband and wife team, seem never to be online! I IM'd them both but as yet no response.

Send them each a notecard with the transaction information...IMs often get capped.

How do you send a notecard? I can see how to create one, in my inventory, but I can't see instructions how to send it. Sorry.

Bring up the profile of the resident you want to send the notecard to and then drag the notecard out of your inventory onto the "Give Item" section of their profile.

They more than likely will ask you for the specific transaction details from the website though, so be sure to include it on the notecard, rather than just something like "I bought these a few days ago and the folder was empty."

The most likely thing here was that the items were inside a folder and the OP dragged the entire folder onto the ground thus transfering the no-copy objects that were in the folder to the contents of whichever prim it was dragged to.
Right click the floor prim you first tried to drag the item to, and "edit", then in the build box that comes up press "more" if there is a "less" button there ignore this step), then there will be a group of tabs, "general", "object","features","texture","contents" etc, press the one that says "contents", this will show the contents of the prim.Last time I did this for someone there were about 30 items inside the floor prim as the person had been trying to rez things in this manner for a long time, you might have to wait for the contents to finnish saying "loading", left click and drag any objects in the prims contents to a folder in your inventory, if there are no contents try nearby prims that you also may have dragged the folder to. Should you succeed in getting those items back into your inventory, only drag the items with a "box" icon to the ground, not ones with a "folder" icon, only objects(box icons) can be rezzed in world. |

1) create your notecard, call it something sensible, save.
2) open the person's profile, then drag the newly created notecard from your inventory onto the box called "drop inventory item here" good luck! |

Another possibility is that the note card went to the note card folder and the items went in the inventory or Object folder and she only found the note card. _____________________
