I've ad this kinda thing happen in the past to my whole Avatar skin/cloths but I normally find a reboot does the trick.
In case you don't know what I mean its whe (for some odd reaon) suddenly it looks like you have done a screen grab from your SL screen and wrapped this texture around your Avatar!
Anyways, I was trying to find a set of eyes I like and I found them, used them, and they have lost their original texture and now (if you look close) you can see part of the on-screen camera controls and a small setion of screen had replaced the custom eye texture they came with.
I've changed the eyes back and forth a few times, Reboted a few times and even cleared the cache, but they still look screwed.
I had not used them ion months, but I tried them last week and theywere fine. Perhaps has a SL crash (not sure) and now they are screwed like this.
Any ideas what else I can try (if anything?)

Hello Piggie, I've come across house texture, hair, clothes, everything doing this but as you say, after a little time or change, teleport, relog they re-establish. I've not come across anything that lasted more than a day or two. Something I do cos I have them, is to log an alt for a while, then return to the original. I'm not guaranteeing this as a remedy .. but it's at least a dstraction

try a rebake (if you are not sure how to do it, do the following... and if you already know, you can skip past this and just go do a rebake)
open the advanced menu (if it is not already open) using ctrl alt D (or ctrl alt shift D) then do a rebake using ctrl alt R
this should do the trick

Yes, normally I've found a re-boot and a cache clear are the two things that normally fix most anything. Just that this time it seemed to be sticking. I'm going to try the Rebake as suggested by Rhaorth Antonelli and will report back.

hopefully it will work
I have had my entire body take on the screen textures, as well as only specific parts, such as eyes
rebake fixes it for me (sometimes it takes a couple rebakes but it does work for me)
I hope it works for you too

From: Piggie Paule Update: Yeah, Rebaked the textures and all fixed now. Thanks I think this is called an 'image bleed'. Happened to me the other day, when I returned from a party on another sim, the 'stats' from that sim, which were invisible to me at the time I was there of course (black screen, lot of numbers) was superimposed on all the buildings on my sim, and all over my avatar. I would 'look' at an object and the image would fade, only to return when I looked away. Very odd, but a rebake and relog fixed it.

it sounds like the nvidea drivers issue
do these following steps to see if it clears it up
open the advanced menu (if it is not already open) ctrl alt d (or ctrl alt shift D in some cases) then turn off palletized textures ctrl alt F7 then do a rebake ctrl alt R (might need to rebake a couple times)
you will need to do this each time you log in (or download the release client, as the palletized texture option has been removed, thus removing this issue)

I used to have this happen a lot, getting the screen image as an avatar texture, either all over or just on part of the avatar. By "a lot" I mean, every few minutes, every single time I logged in. I think I wore out my Ctrl-Alt-R keys from rebaking so often.
Since upgrading to the latest Release Client... not happened once.
