Before I get all happy and delete the thousands of textures in my inventory that I have put into my texture organizer (K.R. Texture Master HUD)... I have a question, I have many thousands of Lindens invested in all these textures, what happens if I press the 'Retrieve' texture from vendor key and the vendor has left SL? Am I left SOL? TIA

I have the same texture organiser and I assumed, perhaps wrongly, that it just files the textures in the contents of the HUD object?

ok, it appears you are right, when I ask to retrieve something already deleted from inventory the HUD says "Texture Master "Rugs" Category owned by Shez Oyen gave you 'TRU TAPESTRY ORIENTAL 5"... the word vendor threw me off. Thanks for the clue

SL does occasionally lose items so its best to keep backups where possible.
If you dont wish to do this as individual textures in your inventory, I recommend copying all the textures to a prim, naming it ,and keeping that object safe in your inventory (and also on your land for extra safety)

Good idea, I have saved a backup copy of the loaded texture HUD to an inventory storage box that I leave out in my house.. will remember to update that whenever I add textures, which is often!

If they're full-perm textures then notecard them before deleting them and send them to an alt as a backup. It's actually quicker to notecard than to archive in a prim, and has the bonus of letting you click the texture link in the notecard and instantly bring that one texture back into inventory, rather than having to rez a prim and hunt through the contents.
