i am still gradually replacing ~pos script in all my mlp v 1.2 stock as it is still showing as missing from the database......am i alone? or are others affected? if so i'm amazed there hasn't been more shouting about borked builds not working....
my ticket seems to of died a death....
Items work from memory until shutdown or reset then they cease to function....

Happened to me and several people I know in the animation business, probably lots of others. Quite possibly everybody. But really, among consumers, how many are going to want to reset their devices? With the owner/group security controls and lots and lots of ready-made devices that probably don't ever get added to, I bet Joe Avatar just leaves it running. So the trouble reports may be more of a trickle that goes on for years than a hysterical flood that makes forum news.

yes thankfully seems that way...and items bought copy from displays that are running continue to do so unless shutdown...mlp v 2 seems unaffected...but 200 odd product lines are getting a pain to reset...really hoped the script would return...

rumour has it its as mono type glitch?

I wouldn't think it could have anything to do with Mono; the asset server loses track of things from time to time as many of us have experienced, it's just that in the case of scripts like this every single instance of it in SL points back to the same bit of source code that once sat on the asset server (unless you happen to edit it and resave, in which case a new instance is created). So it went missing for 10000 people in one fell swoop. Yay.

I know that there was discussion of this earlier, but I wasn't around much then ... if someone has one of these pieces of funiture and resets it, what should they do?

Since it's MLP, I assume that one can usually just add in the script again ... where is there a copy, and is it sufficient to just drop it in the prim and reset scripts?

I understand Johan Durant has a copy in a freebie box at his shop (The Motion Merchant), perhaps others. I have a good one in my inventory too. Feel free to send me an IM if you want one and that's more convenient.

Yeah, just delete the missing one from your device and drag in a new one. You don't even need to reset scripts; just turn your device off and then back on, should be good to go then.

The only killer is the POSITIONS notecard needs to be completely up to date...positions stored just in memory are lost when the ~pos is reinstalled which is my problem...i did like an idiot think that adjusting and saving positions amended the notecards ....doh....but hey sl is supposed to be a great learning curve.....vertical ............so anyone needing to update their cards now is the time to kill 2 birds...

*smiles* yeah, it's unintuitive. That is why MLP has the command that dumps memory to chat; then you simply cut-and-paste the "saved" positions into a notecard. It's easy to miss that step!

Kind of an awkward workaround for the fact that LSL has no command to write into notecards. (A position still I believe defended by LL, on the grounds that it would cause a mushrooming of new UUIDs, a new asset created every time a script updates a notecard).

Nika, we have enough problems with asset servers without adding the huge burden that scripts writing to notecards would cause! But yeah, it sure would be nice. Ah well.

oh joy....i think...think ~pos is back.....i just managed to open some older contents holding old ~pos and i clicked and the script appeared...previously these items showed missing from database. I cant check too much though as content tabs are taking forever to open since the new viewer updates.
