"Vertically-Challenged Evil" Coalition.

Here's the thing... I've revamped (pardon the pun) my alt for RP purposes, and come up with a couple of concepts that I'm intrigued by--one's a vampire child (ala' Claudia from the Anne Rice set), which was inspired by a recent post of great coolness in which someone had done really nifty things with that idea. The other's a wind-up doll with some slipped gears who looks very much like a wee ballerina except for a modest tendency to eat souls. ^^

Anyway, it turns out that finding RP opportunities for dainty, asexual creatures in a horror-based setting is something of a challenge. There was a recent post asking for places to hang out for vampire/dark RP kids, my question is, are there any places they might be allowed in RP?

Any interest in a group for these sorts of beings, to swap shopping tips, hang-out locations, RP suggestions, where to find the very tastiest souls, and that kind of thing? ^^

I'm wearing my... Erm... Vampire Catboy attire right now, and I know the feeling.

It can be hard to find a place for simple vampire roleplay instead of mostly sexually explicit roleplays... (Not my kind of bag)

Anyways, a friend of mine recently suggested Toxian City, although most of the RPers there use DCS and use it often. The place has some nice touches though, such as working restaurants and bars.

But like I said, mostly brawlers.

if you want to go with the ballerina, then Toxia would be great! although it does focus heavily on the violence, they can use a fresh story arc involving possessed toys! as for the child vamp, good luck, as not many would accept her due to the controversy.

I was a little wary of Toxia due to the combat-heavy aspect (short of being picked up and lobbed at someone else as a makeshift projectile weapon, neither of these characters would do much good in a fight), but it sounds worth checking out.

I had kind of assumed that, regardless of setting or character type, a child av is a child av and negative reactions would be a problem, sadly... the dollie has more of a grown-up look to her, though I used kind of an anime scale in putting her together and the results fall short of human... I'm tempted to adjust her background story and just set her up in Caledon, mebbe.

You can play a vampire child in Midian City though. Probably a doll too. you just can't play sex stuff but you can play violent stuff there as a child.

Edit: as an aside. i am a "dark child" in SL. i know how hard it can be to find places to play. "Regular" children places don't always work.. and then a lot of "darker" RPs won't let you be there. i mostly RP with a private RP group. but. if you are interested in playin' i can see about invitin' you.

It really is a challenge--and thanks for the heads-up on Toxia (and Midian City, too). I had noticed a lot of "no child av" rules in various RP locations so assumed that was more often the case than not. :/

The only limits CoLA has explicitly are that you can't carry weapons or involve yourself in combat or sexual RP. I've been there in my main small shape as a sassy little neko runaway and people still engage me just fine. (^_^)

do you happen to know if COLA considers a child vampire "biting" someone as "combat"?
Or.. RPing "eating someone's soul" as "combat"...?
Or is combat explicitly in reference to using their combat system.. and not text-RPed-out "semi violent" acts?

From the website, the rules say no sex, no weapons, no violent acts. Vampire feeding can be seen as an attack or a meal, so it could be skirting things. If anything, have a private chat with a GM to find out if your RP is up to snuff to keep as innocent yet as frightening as possible. A little kiss on the neck can't be that bad... *shink!* (^_^)y
