How to put furniture in new apartment?

Ok so I just rented my first apartment in SL to get the hang of furnishing rooms. I have a pack of free beds, tables, chairs, ect...

How do I put them down on the floor and use them? I have been clicking on inventory and dragging them to the floor but an error comes up "cant rez...not allowed here". I do have 300 prims allowed with my rental. I can get them to show in public sandboxes by draggin them to the floor.

What am I missing?

That means you need a tag to be able to drop them, ask the person you rent from for the proper group tag, and you will good to go :)

Actually, I think we'll have a better chance of winning the lottery than figuring out the information from the Lindens.

Curious about the Emerald Viewer and all the features?

You can only do that if your landlord allows you to rez objects in your apartment. Some landlords rent fully furnished houses or apartments and do not allow tenants to rez any of their own items, or charge additional rent based on the number of prims the tennants rez. The number of prims you are allowed to rez should have been specified in your lease before you rented.

What Brieanne means is that, as a renter, you are probably in the group that owns the land. You need to activate the group tag (above your name) to rez things there.

But what you plan won't work. Those items in your inventory are no good for furnishing apartments. The *only* tried and tested method of furnishing an apartment in SL is to visit my store, buy the furnishing there, and rez those in the apartment. That'll do it :)

I'm sure Laurenn has at least a couple of options available. Pretty sure the stuff at my store is tried and tested too :D

Don't forget to wear the box on your head for awhile.

Sorry Ralektra, you probably don't sell them that way but I couldn't resist trying to make the old joke.

So you must have already been in the group, but did not have the group active. Next time you need to change your group, go to your toolbar and choose Edit, scroll down to Groups, find the correct group and click activate.

For now maybe, but as you become a more discerning apartment renter, you'll find that a visit to my store, plus lots of purchases there, is the only true way to have a nice apartment in SL :D

It's easy to forget about the group tag. I used to rent a skybox and I embarrassed myself a number of times by IMing the landlord to ask why I couldn't rez something. You'd think that being told once would have been enough - but not for me.

One of the things you'll find about the freebie furniture...it's uncomfortable. You'll eventually want furniture with nice poses in it.

Some furniture is simple...just one pose, or one pose per pillow. Other furniture has a pose menu that lets you pick from a selection. Some have both singles and couples poses.

And of course, some furniture has naughty poses. Sometimes a LOT of naughty poses. Animated ones. Make sure that you are "account verified" and have the boxes checked to search for adult content...then look for "sex beds" in search.

Plus top quality apartment furniture, such as that in my store, is always made from the finest materials. The prims have been well seasoned and are guaranteed not to warp or deteriorate like wot cheap quality prims do.

Three years of making signs for different groups and putting them up in different places. I STILL get things returned sometimes because I forget to set them to the right group.

While you're at it, consider this: Apartments are nice to start with, but they are small, cramped, and too close to nosey and noisy neighbors. What you REALLY need is a nice, traditional-styled house, like the ones in my sig below... :p

The last time I was in your store, I had to walk thru saying 'scuse me; scuse me; scuse me' to all the people on the cuddle balls. I even bought a sofa out from under one couple, jeez. I figured they were bots so did not attempt actual conversation.

LMAO! I hate to inform you but I've never had any model bots on any buyable cuddle sofas, so I guess the people who were on it got a bit of a surprise lol But I still love you just the same xxx :)

After it had only been cuddled on? In any case, *my* top quality furniture for apartments, that is made with only the finest of saplings, flown in specially from oriental climes, and cured and seasoned with fondest love and tenderness, is self-cleaning :p
