Suggestions for a photo effects HUD?

Hello, all-- I know this should go under 'products wanted,' but, as has been mentioned before, this forum gets more traffic, so I'm posting here.

I'm looking for a photo effects HUD. I don't need any kind of big, fancy photo studio, I just want a HUD that can help me add special effects, filters and the like to my photos now and then. Searching in world only brings up one listing, and searching XStreetSL brings up so much irrelevant crap that it'd take days to page through it all. I just want a good variety of effects in an easy-to-use item.

So, any suggestions? Anyone have a HUD like this that they absolutely love and/or would recommend to others? Thanks a lot!

World > Environment Editor > Advanced Sky.
Keep that window up and apply the different saved settings.
Also, do a quick search for Torley's Windlight settings.
No need for a HUD since it is in the UI. You just need to open the window.

I have a lot of Torley's presets already installed... what I'm looking for is something a little fancier, not just sky and water colors. More like, the sort of overlays that you might apply in Photoshop: frames, unusual filter effects, transparent textures, etc.

If you use the Meerkat viewer, you can access the windlight presets from a drop-down on by the chat bar. Or, if you use the Restrained Life Viewer, IM and I'll drop you a simple hud I've made to apply them from a blue dialog box.

ETA .. you might find VirtualPhotographer (or the standalone version, VirtualStudio) useful -- both free from http://www.optikvervelabs.com/. You can run the VirtualPhotographer (and lots of other Photoshop plugins, too) from Gimp if you first install the pspi plugin http://akvis.com/en/graphic-tips/gimp-add-plugins.php

Hmmm. I already have that. It's called "Photoshop".

Seriously, I can't see why I would want a HUD, which by necessity would have limited functionality, when I can do so much more in a standalone program.

And is the major reason I don't use a HUD for it.

*takes notes however* I have a couple of friends who are not so big into using Photoshop for some reason. They might like these too.

I have some simple things (borders) I use as a HUD because it's easier to do it that way and e-mail a snapshot than to Photoshop it in and upload it.

A border HUD also helps with framing if you aren't shooting full screen.
